A tangent, perhaps of interest, perhaps not: The Archie Bunker character in TV's "All in the Family" was a shtick. Norman Lear wrote him to be a huge bigot, expecting people to recognize the extremism and be outraged by it. He was pretty disappointed to find how many people never did, and instead embraced the bigotry.

....and as a human being ,Carroll 'O'Connor was the complete opposite of Archie. Left wing. Affirmative action, etc.

99% of what these dumbasses say on TV and radio is schtick for the money. They all have to be louder than the next guy and more outrageous than the next guy.

They all know that it is far, far better to have people talking about the latest controversial thing they said than not be talking about them at all. Everytime someone comes in here to complain about Felger, they are giving him exactly what he wants.
