What is Boutte’s trade value?

a 4th or a sweetener in the Brown deal, although that seems very unlikely.

I think Pats fans are mentally scarred about drafting WRs because of how bad we've been. Other teams won't have the same trepidation about finding WR talent through the draft. Boutte is obviously a solid player, but I don't think he's the budding star type people here make him out to be. He's alright. A guy who should probably be #3 on a good depth chart. Good to have on his rookie deal, probably not ideal to have to pay on his second contract. I don't think teams would give up much for him. Probably a 4th. We shouldn't move him for that.
Around the league, the hit rate on WRs is 33%. I broke it down years ago and saw that 2/3rds of were busts.

Even in the infamous N'Keal Harry draft, people rarely talk about the fact that only 3 of the 9 WRs who went in the first 2 rounds panned out while others like Harry, Hardman, Arcega-Whiteside, Andy Isabella, Parris Campbell went kablooey! And of the 3 who were big hits (Samuel, AJ Brown, Metcalf) none of them stayed with their drafting teams.

The question is value on the open market. Boutte would/should be a very minor factor if he stayed with us. After the first EIGHT receiving options, I suppose the rest of the targets would be spread among Boutte, Douglas, Chism and the #3 RB.

RECEIVERS
Brown, Doubs, Hollins, Williams
Stevenson, Henderson
Henery, Hill

Trying to trade Boutte does make sense.

Assuming it happens and he remains healthy = 1200+ yards receiving
Yep. For a year, maybe. I'd rather have the cheaper option, with upside potential, we'd get if we keep the draft pick. Draft and develop is the way to go, unless a team has perhaps a single glaring need but is solid across the board otherwise. We are not in that position. This roster is thin in many places, sub-par at the starting position in two or three areas. The rebuild is about half done, in my view.

I think he is worth at least a 2nd….but why would Pats move him now? He was our #1-2 WR last year and he is still young and explosive….cant imagine him going anywhere….have to see if they move anyone else tho

Fourth or even fifth. Worth more to us. Has a knack for the spectacular but seems like he disappears for long periods. not sure if that's on him, or the way the offense is run.

I agree
If I am moving a WR it is Hollins and I believe I am selling high on him, or Pop, and I may be selling low on him.
the return in a trade for either is difficult because there is no cost certainty on either past this season
Yeah, honestly, I think I would think they move pop before Boutte….. I like Hollins for one more year….. and Williams… He is still a big question mark at this point as is Chism of course

I think last year it was based on the offense and the way it was run… a lot of people are talking about drafting tight ends but McD did not overly use them last year…. Henry disappeared a lot anyways.

Id say at least a 3rd. I think trading him would be a mistake tho. He has a good repore with drake. Im also reluctant to trade for brown too hes 29 with a bum knee.

After the trade, I wouldn't even expect to have Boutte active in most games.

Sounds like they want a 2nd and Boutte - which at least is getting more reasonable than a 1st and Boutte, which I think is overpaying for Brown

Gotta love that the "he's not worth a 1st round pick" talk is being repeated in Philly

I want to be the guy who rubs mineral oil on the Victoria Secret models.

They had a great draft last year. Have another great draft and this could be a superteam. The names of guys we drafted last year and this year could be pro bowlers in the next few seasons. Trading one 4th or 3rd at worst draft pick for next offseason and one WR who is going to be a free agent and need to get paid is not the end of the world.

They have 11 draft picks, they have undrafted free agency... at last count they had 18 or so open roster spots for camp. Trade one of next years picks for Brown, draft a WR also... why not. Hollins, Boutte and Douglas don't have contracts for next year and Hollins is ancient.

Build a SuperTeam. This is the defending AFC Champion... you can't tell me we're not ready to "win now."

He won't be here. Boutte wants to get paid next offseason, do we honestly think he'll like going into his contract year with Brown and Doubs ahead of him on the depth chart?

Do we think he wants to ride the pine?

Boutte's not at OTO's according to his snapface, he's on a Florida Beach. I suspect he's already been told he's being moved.

People here need to read the tea leaves.

Brown, Doubs and Boutte would be the primary receivers. You need at least 3 active for game day.

Are you going to pay Boutte, especially if they trade for Brown and already paid Doubs?

Boutte will be an unrestricted free agent next offseason. He wants a deal now, not next offseason.

Keep him while he is still on a rookie contract. And we have no idea what will happen with Brown and Doubs in 2026. For all we know it could be a disaster for several reasons.

Don't they all want more $? BTW where is the link with him stating he wants a deal now?

Contracts get done the year before they're up. Players don't like playing a season without the safety net of some guaranteed money... it was literally Cuba Gooding's character arc in Jerry McGuire.

Unless he's on an overnight flight he's not at OTO's. That should tell us something.
