My own personal Pats free agent signings grades

Who was the WR1 last season… they didn’t have one. Diggs hasn’t been a WR1 for years.

Miami tore that roster down to the foundation this offseason… but the Pats should be concerned about the level of talent on their own team?

They beat them handily for 1 and 1/2 games last year… what did a worse Buffalo team do this offseason to improve that New England didn’t?
Also would anyone say Joe Brady has this " Supreme coaching experience " he's no longer a booth player caller he'll need to be overseeing ane entire team and making important in game decisions..

Josh Allen gives Buffalo a chance each week as long as he's on the field they will always have a chance however to your points we will be a much all around better and more experienced team.

Keep smoking that Thai stick.

Youre hilarous.

I'll say this... the team attacked some huge needs in FA.. particularly addressing the trenches on offense. Getting the Running game to be more efficient and effective makes a tremendous difference for the entirety of the offense. Look at the smash mouth Running game Buffalo has with cook/Allen and Ray Davis who chips in.. being able to do this keeps defenses on thier heels and controls the line or scrimmage and the clock..

On defense Dre Jones is an upgrade over chassion who had the best production of his career here being a first round pick of Jax. The team isn't done... 11 draft picks, UDFA, and so much more that will be done to form the roster between now and week 1..
NE focused on FB to help LT. 2 players are now devoted to protecting Mayes left flank.

The majority of NFL teams dont carry FB because its a wasted spot on offense. WR1 still isnt on this team and thats why the AJ Brown thread is withering on the vine old and tired. Evidently the Eagles want too much for an aging asset. I notice that MHJ has "Philly" in his Instagram bio. Thats just the type of move that Howie Roseman would make trading AJB for picks to get a young MHJ.

Wozzy I have to chuckle when I keep seeing the schedule oh this big bad vaunted schedule.. the travel will be more impactful IMO than playing the teams on the schedule.. I believe the toughest place they will play in will be at Seattle..
KC wont be a picnic.

The guy ^ suggesting we worry about the Pats “lack of talent” in relation to the wasteland of talent that is the Dolphins and Jets is clearly on drugs.

Sorry, but weren’t you here at this time last offseason warning us of calamity?

Campbell is a good LT.. he played hurt and was comprised. I'm sure he likely regrets that decision. But on the flip side he got gainful experience this season. The trenches is what is important.

He played hurt despite having a decent backup. This year that backup is gone and we have no LT2 at the moment. Thats one of the biggest holes on the roster imo.

Agreed there... the new OL we signed name escapes me? Would he presumably be the Back up.. oh wait! Hudson is his name. This is why the development of Marcus Bryant remains pivotal for the depth.

No, whatever is in your pipe lately clearly is mind altering to come up with telling me that the Pats do not need any starters.

What kind of a crackpot idea is that? Diggs was not a starter? Why is there an AJ Brown thread? Would he be a starter? Well, I suppose not according to you.

Who will be the QB?
Mahomes is ahead of schedule.

Diggs returned in 9 months. Mahomes will be 8.5 months post surgery end of August 2026. Kelce came back. He would not be back without Mahomes playing.

PM as great as he is bad had knee and ankle injuries over the course of his illustrious career.. I expect alot of Kenneth Walker involved to take pressure of PM.. won't be the least bit suprised..

Where... give us the position's the Pats need a starter, be specific?

Diggs is a good possession WR at 32 years old, he'd have been 33 years old this season if they held onto him. Calling him a WR1 when he barely gets to 1000 yards and 4 TD's is laughable. There are an endless amount of #2's they could pepper with 102 targets who could get over 1000 yards and average 11.9 yards per reception. Jakobi Meyers got to 1000 yards, Julian Edelman got to 1000 yards... Doubs will probably do it this season assuming they don't add AJ Brown.

Why add Brown? Because you never stop trying to improve, and if he is too expensive you don't add him. The next great WR is either already on the team named Kyle Williams, or he's in this year's draft class.... where they have 11 draft picks.

The Pats won rings with Edelman and Troy Brown as their leading WR. The term "#1 WR" is the most meaningless, abstract, garbage nonsense peddled by casual football fans. Nobody can tell us what makes one, what is the criteria, do they possess magic powers that make them a #1.

There is no number system to rank WR's on your team, you just need the best group of 4-6 WR's you can find. Some work outside the hashes, some work in the slot... but there is no magical position known as a #1 WR... and if there is, it is completely unnecessary to win rings... which is the only goal.

So don't tell us the Pats are desperate to fill their #1 WR starter position... because that's not a position.

Tell where they need starters... since they're so desperately in trouble and needy?

This is no different than the Peanut Gallery writing Brady off as done and then he went out and won another Lombardi .

Go to substance abuse rehab and if/when you get out I will continue this insane discussion.

Until then bon voyage and best of luck to you.

You can’t tell us which starting positions they desperately need now, because then you’d have to qualify how a team that was good enough to get to the Super Bowl last year isn’t going to be a good team this one. Ciao.
