Fan Connection Just learned I’ll be in a Green Room with Drake Maye.

Threads about meetups, get togethers, tailgates, etc.
Bravo
That sounds like a night to remember
Ask Drake how old was he before he could start to be competitive playing his brothers
That is a good question

Another good is when facing a 3-4 front with inverted cover 2...NVM that would be me nerding out and I can't imagine he would appreciate that at all. LOL

I had older cousins that lived upstairs from me as a kid. They never took it easy on me playing every sport, but it elevated my game. When I played kids my own age I had the upper edge.
I would say I became competitive around 9-10 years old. Granted my cousins and their friends were decent athletes but no where near Maye quality

I had the unfortunate experience of being really good friends with 3 guys that all became professional athletes in different sports. It was humiliating as a kid, but it made me become a great worker because I did not have the gifts of the others and I could stay competitive until they started working on their craft rather than relying on natural ability.

Or was it really so unfortunate?

Lucky you sir!

"Oh my goodness! maye! Huge fan, honored to meet you. I read about how your shoulder was hurting and it was being pointed to as to why you didn't seem as sharp as usual, and I guess I wanted to really find out... True or false, you're full of excuses?"

JK that's an awesome opportunity, I would love to ask him something about the difference between year one and two. Somehow in a way that he'd actually answer.

Follow up question, is it as awkward for you with the left hand as most guys say. LMAO

So serendipitous series of events has my 14 YO son and I in the Green Room for the Maxwell Awards. Business thing.

I had no idea they also have a pro football player of the year award.

Drake won it this year and is confirmed to attend and accept.

We already knew we’d get to meet Mendoza and the other award winners, but super cool coincidence that Drake won this year.

If you had a chance to meet Drake briefly, what would you say?

(This is more for fun as I already know we’ll just thank him for a great season and wish him well)
Good for you man. Honestly if I ever ran into him and had 10 seconds to say something it'd be thank you for bringing good football back to NE and dont dwell on the SB loss he's got a bright career ahead of him

My unusual Patriots interactions...

- Met Bob Kraft in a dark alley in the middle of winter around 11 PM, in Boston...alone.
- Andre Tippett physically beat the crap out of me when I was 15 years old...with witnesses.
I vaguely recall a report that Andre Tippett got into a fight during a charity hoops game, 1989 or so, that resulted in a $50k lawsuit (big money back then).

Was that you?

Luckily that was not me. I was taking Karate classes in Stoughton, MA and in walks Tippett. I had to spar against him. It did not go well.

Ask him specifically what he will do to improve in 2026.

You were 15.
Great story though

If this is the route of a not so humble brag thread, I’ve shook hands with Bobby Orr, Tom Brady and Larry Bird.
3 of the 4 from NE's Mount Rushmore

# 4 would be Ted Williams.

I met

Jim Kelly - Huge, he looks like a MLB.
Matt Hasselback - Nice guy. I did not approach him, but the character I was with did.
Bob Kraft
Jonathan Kraft
Andre Tippet
Vincent Brown - On a high school jogging track in Duluth, GA where I used to run in the evenings.
Jon Gruden - Nice guy
Moose Johnson - Nice guy
A pitching coach for the Chicago Cubs or White Sox - I dont remember which, but he had a big Championship ring on.

Near but did not bother

Nomar
Lynn Swann
Adam V and his family
Don Shula - Doosh.
Adam Schefter - Doosh
Subway Jared - Doosh
Drew Brees
