2026 Draft: Defensive Tackle

Kaleb Proctor, DT, SE Louisiana, 6-3, 280

Statistically, arguably the best pass rushing DT in CFB will be at the Shrine Game.

9 sacks (1st)
40 pressures (3rd)
90.8 pass rush grade (2nd)

He is the same size as Milton Williams coming out and if you squint and turn your head slightly, you can kind of see some Milton Williams to his game - Proctor is seriously twitched up. And although he's an FCS prospect, two of his nine sacks came against LSU so level of competition isn't necessarily an issue. I think, with that athleticism, Proctor could stand out at the Shrine game.

I love Proctor's change of direction and ability to both stay on his feet and stop on a dime on the first play.

I am a big fan of taking a shot on athletic lineman and you had me at Milton Williams clone (I squinted alot). He seems the type of guy that stops the run on the way to the QB and that feels like the type of defense we have been this year. Based on the highlights he seems raw to me (few moves and wins by using his athleticism) Technique can be taught (not always learned though).

Since he looks similar to Milt then maybe he could take instruction from a guy with a similar playstyle.

He's probably a UDFA, maybe 6th round at the earliest and would likely be a practice squad guy. question is, can he do a Cory Durden and take advantage of any opportunity given?

That what I was thinking a 7th-UDFA. I like him as a camp body and hopefully he can seize the opportunity. I also like Leonard Taylor and think he will be back

With Cory Durden and Leonard Taylor stepping up, the Pats are 6 deep at DT right now:

1-3: Milton Williams, Christian Barmore, Khyris Tonga
4-6: Josh Farmer, Cory Durden, Leonard Taylor

Unless Tonga isn't re-sroom. or Barmore traded, not much room.

I think Proctor would be a PS that would potentially be called up if there are injuries and assuming he takes to coaching and learning

I'm not averse to a day 3 DT. Depth and competition good.

Hard to see drafting one day 1-2 unless something gives.

Have yo seen those comedy fights where a bigger person puts their hand on somebody's head and the smaller person keeps swinging punches that never connect? This rep of Darrell Jackson and his 35" arms made me think of it.

I think we might be able to get someone stouter than Tonga. I would love to add a real run stuffer to the group, a power freak to take on two guys, and then I am satisfied.
