Collection of quotes from yesterday's pressers:

“I play hard for that man,’ Barmore said. “The things that man taught me, how he coaches me, I really respect the man with my life.”

“It’s the most fun I’ve had since high school,” Campbell said. “This is just everything I could’ve asked for coming into the league. I’m just super grateful for him.”

“He’s absolutely unbelievable,” Bradbury said. “This player-friendly term gets thrown around a lot, but it looks different. He’s hard on us when he needs to be. But he’s also a lot of fun at times. This whole locker room will ride with that guy."

“He’s a great coach. At the end of the day, he’s one of us,” receiver Kayshon Boutte said. “He played. He’s been through it. He experienced it. He played in the Super Bowl, too. He’s happy for us, but without him, we wouldn’t be where we are today.”

It was Vrabel's commitment to his players that won them. Standing by Stevenson and other players through adversity demonstrated fully that he wasn't just talk, but that he had their backs and would do everything he could to help them succeed. This season was the best coaching job I have ever seen. He took the worst team in football and turned them into the team competing for the Championship. Incredible job.

Two things really stood out for me yesterday...

1) Diggs in his post game talking about how he's thankful for a coach who hold everyone to the same standard. This is a guy who's been a diva in the past so for him to embrace that mindset is huge.

2) Maye's slide at the end of the first half to set up a FG attempt. That shows that a young player is being taught situational football well.

It honestly feels like the best of both worlds where he's both the master tactician and also the "player's coach" type too.

Best thing to happen to Vrabel was getting **** canned and mercilessly being let out of Tennessee. Then taking a year off and ending up where he wanted to be. Also, he walked into a situation with Drake Maye already here. Didn't need to tank for a QB. No he had Maye and every player has seen his SB TD catches as a LBer. He has not only won, he has been a massive contributor to 3 SB titles. That matters to players vs a McDaniels type who has never been in their shoes.

Getting bloody from diving into the pile during the training camp scrum with Washington also bought him huge cred.

I think it's worth pointing out that his last SB win came 20 years ago. Drake Maye was like 4 years old for that game lol. There honestly probably aren't too many players on the team who really vividly remember Vrabel too much as a player if we're being honest. I'm sure they all vaguely know of him as a player for the franchise, but I'm not sure the connection for a lot of the players is as strong as people make it out to be.

Outstanding season and he has only just begun!

Biggest factor in Pats "aura" from the old dynasty teams is Vrabel. The guy checks off so many boxes in terms of leadership and likeability, and authenticity. Not sure how you can even dislike this team as an outsider between him and Maye. Far cry from the Beli/Brady days, which were full of ego & "gates".

I’m sure they all know his reputation, and probably all have watched if not studied film of his games. As competitive as they all are no player at that level is going to miss the chance to pick up an edge by knowing his boss as well as he possibly can. I’d even bet Munford has asked Vrabes for tips about playing tight end. Or maybe to explain what he was doing on some particular TD catch. That’s just part of taking care of business.

Great post. One thing that I really started to notice from the players was how they started speaking about Vrabel as camp and the regular season went on. It a real, genuine thing and I honestly believe Vrabel deeply cares and is fond of all his players.
