Have not seen this posted and it supposedly happened hours ago. Too say he deserves every bit of it is an understatement

Mike Vrabel, who led the New England Patriots to a tie for the best record in the NFL, is the 2025 NFL Coach of the Year, chosen in voting conducted by the Professional Football Writers of America (PFWA).

Vrabel led the Patriots to a 14-3 record including a 10-game win streak from Weeks 4-13 in his first season coaching the franchise. He joins George Seifer (1989 San Francisco) and Jim Caldwell (2009 Indianapolis) as the only coaches to win 14 games in their first season with a franchise. The Patriots improved 10 games from the 4-13 finish in 2024, which ties for the best turnaround in NFL history (Indianapolis 1999 and 2008 Miami). New England had a +170-point differential (third in the NFL) and were second in the league with 490 points scored. The 6,449 total offense yards were third in the league, and the 22 rushing touchdowns were tied for fourth in the NFL. The defense allowed just 18.8 points per game (fourth in the NFL). Quarterback Drake Maye was selected to the PFWA’s All-AFC team, while running back TreVeyon Henderson and placekicker Andy Borregales were selected to the PFWA’s All-Rookie Team.

This is the second PFWA Coach of the Year honor for Vrabel as he won the 2021 award with the Tennessee Titans, and the eighth Coach of the Year award for the Patriots’ franchise, as Vrabel joins Chuck Fairbanks (1976 AFC), Raymond Berry (1985 AFC), Ron Meyer (1987 AFC), Bill Parcells (1984) and Bill Belichick (2003, 2007 , 2010) as New England honorees.

well deserved honor for Coach Vrabel

Not sure how the “Professional” football writers association can get a HOF coach’s name misspelled in just the 3d sentence.

I guess it’s the writers association and not editors. Lol

Well -deserved and seemingly obvious, but as Patsfans we always seem to anticipate being denigrated, that the obvious won’t happen.

Congrats to Vrabel! I wonder how many of these writers are HOF voters and how this may foreshadow the main NFL coach of the year winner.

A lot of good coaching candidates this year. I wonder how much they'll penalize Vrabes for not being a first time HC?

They joke about him in Tennessee....who laughing now...

He should absolutely be coach of the year.

Personally, if I had a vote, I'd give it to Ben Johnson. No slight to Vrabes, I just think his case is a little stronger.

Both teams had unbelievable turnarounds from last place to #2 seed in their respective conferences. I hink here in NE an MVP level QB was a bigger part of that turnaround than CHI's QB play was. I honestly thought Caleb Williams looked like a future bust last year, whereas it was obvious to me that Maye was a real player just maybe a bit raw and harmed by a bad situation last year. Caleb Williams turned it around big time, but still don't think he's on the level Maye is at. And as an offensive guy, I give Ben Johnson a lot of the credit for Caleb Williams/ improvement too. While I think Vrabel is a part of Maye's improvement even as a "defensive coach", I do think it's a smaller percentage than I ascribe to Ben Johnson for Caleb Williams' improvement.

Happy we have Vrabel as a head coach, even over Ben Johnson but that's just how I'd vote for it as a single season award.
