I think this will be an underrated hire. Saleh failed with the Jets, but I think that had more to do with the Jets than Saleh. He created a dominant defense that literally fell apart near immediately after he was fired. He will definitely need to be paired with a good OC (calling Mike McDaniel who both coached together in San Fran), but I think Saleh could be a guy who will surprise people his second time around.

Poor bastard. That franchise is rudderless.

I do think hes a good coach. In fairness if AR doesn't get hurt G1 2023 they have a real shot at the playoffs. Squealers got in at 10-7 that year.

is he bringing McDaniel as his OC?

Agree he’s a great defensive coach, can’t be blamed for the Jets.

Mike McDaniel would make me worry. Given his substance history I had a difficult time thinking the interviews he gave where he seemed confused/illogical were benign. But I agree he needs an OC to help Cam Ward develop

I was laughing about this yesterday, Woody to Amy? What a glutton.

And that's Miss Amy, bless her heart

Would one of these now Position HC's try to lure DC Zak Kuhr?? I am sure this Patriots Defense is getting him some recognition.

I don't get why guys who are dammed good coordinators take ****ty HC jobs. Titans, Cards, Browns and Jete are just lousy places to go. I get the $$ part, but he was rumored to be the highest paid DC, maybe the highest coordinator on both sides of the ball. It's not like he couldn't feed his family on what he was making.

They think they can turn a franchise around, maybe possible with some teams but not the Jetes, they're cursed.

The fish rots from the head on the teams I mentioned. There's a reason it's the same franchises in the playoffs year after year, just as there's a reason the same teams pick in the top 10 year after year.

Underwhelming addition as a coach... 18-33 at Jersey B and not much to work with in Tenn...

oh well

We have had pages and pages and pages of discussion on if Brady or Belichick was the reason for the dynasty. We have had pages on if Kraft should go to hall for his part.

Don’t remember a significant thread on how much is owed to Josh McDaniels or Dante Scarnetia.

Some folks want to play for those stakes
and get that level of recognition

i don't blame him for taking the job... just don't think it will turn out well for him... the door to the HC seat gets closed quickly if you don't perform...

Titans have rebuild in store but they might not be that bad. Need some things to happen like Ward looking like that guy: they have A lot of Cap Space and can restructure or cut bait to create even more $$$$$$$. That said they will have to battle the Jags and Texans and Colts.

Yeah, I don't think it's about money for a guy like Saleh. If you've had a taste of being able to make the decisions yourself, it's awfully hard to go back to following somebody else's orders you don't always agree with. And if your one shot as a HC was a failure, you don't want that to be your legacy.

I understand: and this was already stated but Robert Saleh was the Best HC the Jets had in awhile. They just didn't know it.

He's a really good DC and looks like a Players HC. Hopefully he can draw FA Players to Tennessee: Robert Saleh doesn't seem like a guy who has that Mayo effect.

I do think he will do a solid job there. While their owner obviously is not great, she is at least better than Woody (that is a very low bar). The roster has a few decent pieces - I do like Cam Ward, who made some mistakes, but has the talent and seems like he has a good mindset. If he can get a decent OC and their front office is competent (big "if's"), they can certainly set themselves up to compete quickly in that fairly tame division. The only somewhat strong team is Jacksonville, and they might be paper tigers. Houston made the postseason on their defense, but their offense is a **** show. I think Indy will fall apart again next year and Steichen will get fired.
