In the Tomlin thread someone mentioned the "towel-waving asshats". As I find this totally annoying, they are not the only fans to do this. I know there are others and in other sports too! I remember the Angels with that stupid monkey a few years back.

What other fan base does this?

The Braves' Tomahawk Chop. I think it's cool though.

ML Carr...Ooo... sorry guys....

do drunken new york assholes jumping on/through tables count?

I don't know who started it -- Braves or Florida State football. But then Cheeves fans picked it up. I think it's moronic. The "chant" melody is from a 1930s Western; also, not all Indian tribes used tomahawks.

Patriots have the lighthouse ceremonial "celebrity" bellringer before every game, which gets the Gillette crowd going.

One ritual I kind if like is the Minnesota Vikings fans' "Skol!" clap/chant.

Do Cleveland baseball fans wave towels too?

Going out on a limb here....a stick with a sharp rock attached to it via animal hide or guts and used for hunting, crafting and fighting was probably used for a million years by a few people. Most likely it was a popular household item. It's a chopping motion done for a million years all over Planet Earth.

Honestly, the minuteman gimmick after scores is probably one of the coolest things in sports.

But I'll throw my lot in with the Vikings as well. Pretty cool.

FL Gators chomp….FSU Tomahawk….tbh I’m kinda surprised they didn’t make the ‘noles get rid of their Injun, headdresses, or spears. With how everyone’s so pc now…

One that can at times be ridiculous is Tampa Bay 'firing the cannons' every time the Bucs enter the red zone.

So for example, they advance to the 18 - the cannons go off.
Then after a false start, the Bucs move inside the 20, and the cannons are fired again.
Rinse, lather, repeat.

The Vikings drum, horn and Skol chant is cool.

Sports are a silly thing, so people behaving silly while watching sports is fine with me.

Not NFL but the Enter Sandman entrace at Virginia Tech is epic.
