So we have a 230-lb battering ram who’s elite in pass protection but also runs WR routes impressively well. Meanwhile the outside breakaway speed threat Henderson has spent the past few games dragging piles of defenders for extra yards up the middle. Pair that with a QB who is equally effective in the pocket and on the move throwing to every part of the field…

If you’re a DC what’s your plan against this offense? What are its tendencies?

Let’s see how Lan Larison comes back from his red shirt UDFA rookie year…

As I've said before, let's hope Vrabel gives him and Lampe a chance. Belichick basically never did with UDFAs who went on IR in the preseason.

Also, he did actually break his foot.

Confused.

Mondre has developed into a really well rounded back with his blocking and receiving skills. No more run/pass predictably when he's on the field.

I love our RBs. Would love it if Gibson comes back healthy.

The guy is clearly an elite RB if he can hold on to the ball.

I'd really like to know what/how the team/coaching staff did to help Rham turn things around. Vrabes and others on the coaching staff get a ton of credit....but Rham gets the most. He was in a bad place earlier this year and now he looks like an All-Pro.

Also read Ivan (who can't walk well anymore) has been at practice in a golf cart busting Rham's chops/offering encouragement.
I think Rham did himself a lot of good getti g inside his own head while he was sidelined. He's really come back focussed.

Also helps that McD is taking advantage of Rham's receiving skills to expand his threat surface.

Back in those Brady days I never realized the importance of pass blocking but after the newton and Mac Jones era and turnstile oline we have been dealing with, I have come to realize the outsized importance of pass blocking and it's impact on a QB psyche.

If Maye is waiting to hit a deep pass, it's because of the twist he has on rham's pass blocking to a greater degree . I think it is an underrated skill . Pass blocking and then serving as a safety valve for screen passes or Bing a passing back is insane . Not many have it and rham runs some slick routes like James White .

I think if he has conquered his mental demons we might have a keeper for next 2 seasons who will keep maye upright and also allow Henderson to flourish.

As pointed out by someone Maye - Hendo - Rham would be a nightmare for any DC to plan for. We don't need any WR1 . We just need savvy route runners and a marauding oline. Keep investing in the line. Don't overpay for wide receivers. 18-20 million should be the max we pay for that position.

IMO he can be unlocked as the next Kevin Faulk if he wasnt cast into the role as the "bruising" back.

Faulk 5'8 205 40 time -4.57 3-cone 7.14
Stevenson 6'0 227 40 time 4.64 3-cone 7.09

Stevenson pass catching numbers since 2021:
2021:14
2022:69
2023:38 (This was the year the Pats moved on From Damien Harris making Stevenson RB1)
2024:33
2025:32

My fav part of this is even after 3 TDs Vrabel pulls him aside to remind him he has to keep holding on to the ball. Even when something is 'fixed' you need to keep drilling it home. Good coaching. Just being sure it is on his mind to not be too loose and ruin an otherwise great day.

Agree completely. He's much more in the Faulk/White mold than the Dillon/Smith type. McD is starting to use him that way.

I think it was L. Blount that told Rham to sharpen up his pass catching skills if he wanted to succeed in Josh's offense (paraphrasing) and that he wished he practiced that part of his game more.

I love his demeanor. After his first TD, he simply runs through the endzone, give a kid a football and a lifetime memory. Then casually turns and walks back to his OL to thank them. No dance. No screaming No self-aggrandizement. Like it was just another day at the office... NEXT. Makes it very easy to root for him.

I think he’s a combo of both styles.
Faulk and White aren’t running between the tackles often. Rham is certainly capable of that.
He’s a very good receiver and blocker, but he is way more of a physical runner than White and Faulk. So again, he’s kinda a combo of of all
4 of those guys.

Exactly.

“Act like you’ve been there before” is really good advice to keep yourself grounded, on an even keel.

WHAT A GAME!

3-TD's
WR pass routes
long runs for TDs
move the pile runs
highlight real PASS BLOCKS
138 yds on just SEVEN carries

If he isn't the offensive player of the week, THAT will be the true awards robbery of the week,
Didn’t see it mentioned here, but he got it. Well deserved!

Stevenson's recognition also reflects a broader trend this season for the Patriots, who have now seen six different players earn AFC Player of the Week honors. Quarterback Drake Maye received the award in Week 13, kicker Andy Borregales was recognized in Week 12, defensive playmaker K'Lavon Chaisson earned the honor in Week 7, Marcus Jones did so in Week 4, and Antonio Gibson was recognized back in Week 2.

Check out this weeks Mic'd up with Rhamondre, its very good. I will say I was one for calling for him to be shipped out of town for all the fumbling early in the season. I still believe if a skill player cant hang on to the ball they have little value. However, he has most certainly redeemed himself and had probably the best game of his career against the Dolphins. If he can keep giving this effort in the post season I am all for having him back in the upcoming season. He has all the tools you want from a back and the right attitude. I hope the fumbling issues are behind him.

Most impressive in this video is his blocking......he laid the wood several times.

Such an easy team to root for. Guys seem like they all genuinely like each other.

Put down the Beer Toof you lost me right there.
