Not firing Taylor is so bizarre. Why would anyone expect the team to be any better next year?

Not bizarre at all when you consider who the owner is. The idea of Mike Brown paying for two head coaches in the same year (one with the team and one fired) is what would be bizarre.

Smart and cheap Mike Brown's been around the block. This is not the year to fire a HC: slim picking if any out there.

Nah! If the Belichick in his prime was available and wanting to coach Burrow, no way would Brown fire Taylor with two years left on his contract. There is nothing smart about it.

Besides, everyone laughed at the Jags when they signed Cohen last year. Everyone thought it was a desperation hire when the Jags were turned down by all the marquee coaches. Who is laughing now?

Rob: even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while. It took Trevor Lawrence a while even I would have given up.

Bears, Pats and Jags all hit the jackpot with coaching hires. Raiders and Jets on the other hand...........

Cardinals fire Gannon !
I don't know if I really get this one. I feel like the team was reasonably productive with Jacoby Brissett... The problem there has more to do with the QB room than the coach... If they're firing Gannon because he wants to move on from Murray then that's not going to go well.

There is just something about the Raiders firing Carroll that rubs the wrong way. With the exception of them brining in Geno Smith for Carroll, you've got to ask yourself about the Team self-scouting and the players that Spytek brought in.

Alex Cappa has been garbage for them at center for 2 years. Jordan Meredith had been moved there, but he is horrible at pass blocking and they moved him over to RG until he went out with injury.
The Raiders have issues at RG, including having to move 2025 3rd round Pick Caleb Rogers there.
DJ Glaze is only marginally better at RT than former Patriot Demontrey Jacobs having given up 51 and 49 pressures over the last 2 years. Yet, they seem committed to him.

Stefanski is gone and his assistants are most likely gone too. Schwartz is one of the better DC's out there. Vrabel was in Cleveland last year so he saw firsthand. It wouldn't be a bad idea bringing him in.
Vrabel would have first hand information on any of the Browns assistants.

Will Williams need to be replaced as DC?

Plus Josh and his family ike the area, and his kids are young. I think the youngest is below school age. He could stay here for Maye's entire career, make a ton of money and leave when his kids and Drake are gone. He'd still be plenty young enough to take another HC shot then. And he should have an even more impressive resume by then.

This is my fantasy scenario.

I believe the youngest would be in middle school right now, per articles on McDaniels.

ok. I was going off a quick google search that said he had a 3 year old... but it was probably just an old article. Even so, idk what middle school means. In my current town it is 5th and 6th grade, growing up it was 6th - 8th. But either way, he has young kids, and he has said in the past he loves living in new england, and it would be surprising if he moved his kids out of Westwood.

I'm not saying it can't happen, but he does seem to be happy right now.

Dear lord, who the hell wants to go work for the Browns?

What makes you think he doesn't have final say and Wolf is the guy who meets the media?

Wolf has said he has final say, he was given it when Belichick left and he was promoted. However it's clear that he defers to Vrabel on personnel decisions, and I doubt he would have an issue with Cowden getting it as it's the best way to keep the front office intact, and after the last offseason I think everyone wants that.

Bizarre. the team just had one of its greatest drafts ever and you want to start dismantling the front office

What are you talking about? What I said was the best way to keep it intact.

Ok, my bad. i read it as you wanted to get rid of cowden. But i would still keep the band together for at least another year and see how it turns out.

Bears, Pats and Jags all had a talented QB in place. Raiders and Jets on the other hand...
The Raiders will be leaving those Franchise QB less Teams pretty soon: Brady likes Fernando Mendoza.
