AFC will likely get the 3rd, and the question is if Chargers-Patriots is more compelling than Bills-Jags (or Texans-Steelers/Ravens, which I very much doubt will be chosen).

What is best for the Patriots is an interesting question.

Bills @ Denver to get Denver out seems possible. I think of the teams likely yo get Denver out... the Bills are the most likely. IDK how i feel about the Texans going there....

With a win against the Chargers, the possible opponents for the Divisional round are:

If the Bills win: The winner of Ravens/Steelers vs Houston

If the Jags win: Jacksonville, no other opponent is possible.

Good analysis. I’d think the Bills-Jags will be the better game, most competitive. But it may not be the one that best fits the league’s desired narrative. They may want to showcase the incredible Patriots turnaround as the more compelling story than the potential implosion of the perennially failing Bills.

It will be whatever it is. We will see, and deal with it.
