It's ******** 'illness' is in quotes.
The flu went through the locker room last week.
I'm dealing with it right now.
Apparently it’s still making its way through this week.

Both Chaisson and Munford are on the injury report this week with illness, in addition to Barmore. They were both limited by it yesterday.

Also Maye admitted he was under the weather with sniffles for the game. Drake Maye admits he was playing sick during record-setting performance vs. Jets

It still weirds me out that a pure AFC vs AFC matchup is on Fox.

I don't like it.

I don't like how the games are now split onto all these stupid streaming services.

Do the streaming, but give local options, man! Especially if they're your region's team.

I'm STILL WAITING to see why Westover is on the team.
He's taking a 53, and I personally think he sux
As I told others, it took Develin 2.5 years to make the transition to FB. Westover wasn't asked to block a lot in college and when he did it was inline from the TE position. He's learning an entirely new position and it's been a whopping 5 months. People expecting Westover to be anything remotely close to Develin are doing themselves a disservice.

If you watched games, he's actually made some blocks., though he's missed his fair share as well. If Lampe hadn't been injured, we wouldn't even be talking about Westover.

If you want to b!tch about something, complain that Vrabel/McDaniels chose Westover over signing Jakob Johnson. They did so at the end of Training camp. They did so again after Johnson was re-signed and then cut by the Texans later in the year as well.

Spillane returned. Doubt he plays sunday but Great sign for round 1

Crazy the way concussions can be so unpredictable. The two concussions that looked bad in the Ravens game (Henderson and Boutte) are both cleared, while the one that wasn’t even identified until after the game (Wilson) still hasn’t cleared. Hope he gets better soon, and hopefully Brown can continue to hold the fort down in the interim.

It used to be that AFC away games were on CBS, NFC away games were on FOX. The current system is designed to help "equalize" the slates on the two networks so one network doesn't get all the "good" games.

Yep, hopefully will be fine for next week. Last week i read Tonga is a 1-2 week injury, if all goes well sunday we should have everyone but hollins and farmer for rd 1.

Shefter, reported on the Macafee show that he doubts either Achane or Waddle would play Sunday. So with very few exceptions, Sunday will be our scrubs against their scrubs, at least in the 2nd half

Who wins will simply about "want to" more than anything else. Believe me, Miami WILL play hard. It is going to be a lot of guys best chance to put some good play on tape and open some eyes. So our guys AND theirs are going to be motivated.

We have the advantage of getting Maye Williams and Campbell 20-30 snaps for our side

****SPOILER ALERT**** ****SPOILER ALERT****

DO NOT READ THIS If You Want To Be Surprised On Sunday:

As the Patriots are busy finishing off blowing out the Dolphins, the Chargers will mount a late comeback and score at the last minute to beat the Broncos by one point in Denver, making the Pats the top seed in the AFC.

After the game, Jim Harbaugh will be blubbering, "I'm so proud of these guys, bleh bleh bleh..."
If this happens, or even close with same end result, just let me know where to send your thank you bottle.

Just for the record - Fencer's pose/hand spasm/etc. doesn't mean it was any worse than a normal concussion. It's definitely scarier to see, but from a diagnostics perspective, it means little in severity.
Indeed.

AI:
Is it an indication of a more severe concussion?
  • Yes, as a diagnostic sign: The fencing response is generally associated with a significant impact force to the brainstem and is more likely in concussions involving loss of consciousness or greater biomechanical stress. Animal studies and biomechanical analyses suggest it occurs with moderate (not mild) injury forces and can correlate with markers like blood-brain barrier disruption.
  • No, for prognosis or recovery: Recent evidence from professional football players (a 2025 study of NFL concussions from 2018–2023, involving 57 cases with fencing response) found no differences in recovery time, symptom severity, neurocognitive function, balance, or return-to-play duration compared to concussed players without the response. Earlier perceptions linked it to worse outcomes, but controlled clinical data does not support it as a predictor of prolonged or more severe recovery.
