You can’t replace what Hollins brings to the team. Not only the production, but the blocking and leadership.

I’m guessing Jiles will come in for Hollins. And Chism will get a lot of playing time as well. Certainly not ideal when trying to hopefully get the #1 seed.

The injuries feel reminiscent to 2013.. remember we lose Gronk and had Austin collie at WR heading in Denver in the AFCCG.

He could be headed for surgery for a sports hernia and done for the playoffs for all we know. Either way is a gut punch. Williams gets a shot tomorrow and Douglas probably as well.

He had a sports hernia in 2018.. and if this the case now this would be his second.. not necessarily what we want to see especially in 30 plus year old WR..

Don’t remind me. It seemed every other year we had massive amounts of injuries. In 2015, the greatness of Tom Brady got us within a 2 point conversion of tying the AFCCG despite having massive amounts of injuries to key players. It seemed like the odd years, 2013, 2015, and then in 2017 we lost Edelman, which was a HUGE loss.

I think the rule is 4 games vs 4 weeks to avoid teams using the bye week to “abuse” the rule and get looks at extra players on their roster since they can IR a guy and lose one less game.

And because of that, I do think the rule SHOULD be different for the playoffs because team motivations would be different. Team aren’t going to sacrifice playoff games of players to milk a roster spot.

There's nothing remotely abusable about the IR including the bye. Just a dumb rule that needs to be flushed.

No idea about his diagnosis but if he has a sports hernia then 1-2 months without surgery, 3-4 with. He would be unlikely to return this year. In addition to his catches we will miss his blocking in the run game. Injuries taking a toll.

Ugh.. tell me about it.. we started off 10-0 in 2015.. sensational start. That Gostowski missed PAT was weird. It ended up costing us that game.. Losing that regular season game in OT to Denver cost us.

Losing Edelman in the preseason in a meaningless game is what irked me about the injury.. fortunately dion Lewis and amendola as well as Gronk and cooks were huge for us that season.

Agree that this is a big loss. This guy turned into a major major component to our offense. Maybe not a #1 guy, but was one of the guys Maye looked to in key moments.
