Player Signing Patriots Extend Ben Brown

Garrett Bradbury is pretty young. Im not sure they move on from him.

I am still dreaming of the Pats signing Tyler Linderbaum in the offseason. The guy is one of the best centers in the game and Baltimore will be unable to franchise him since all o-linemen are lumped together to determine franchise tag number and he would get top five tackle money (same reason they didn't pick up his fifth year option). Linderbaum would be a massive upgrade to Bradbury.

Yes that would be a great addition to the team. Sign the beast up.

I want the money spent on positions of huge need, not DE.

We also need someone to come in and develop behind Diggs and Hollins. These two are old men.

The Pats have $50 million in cap space left this year (which can be rolled over) plus $51 million next year. They already have the most cap space next year. They can sign Linderbaum and still sign an elite WR if one becomes available in trade. Money isn't an issue.

The Pats need to upgrade the o-line. They need to get a consistent running game going. I would argue center is a position of huge need.

Good signing.

Top backup on the interior

Good move, especially if they are considering making Wilson the 2026 center. That creates a gap at LG, which Brown could potentially fill.

Onwenu is a cut candidate next year, although I could also see them doing an extension to get his cap number in 2026 way down. If he IS cut then Brown can also take that spot and they leave Wilson at LG and keep Bradbury as starting C. So Brown gives them some insurance which likely helps in negotiating with Onwenu.
How has Brown done is his many reps at RG?

Sadly, the picture isn't quite that rosy. If you look at the link below, and scroll down to "2026 Cap Totals", you'll see their number of about $62M includes the rollover from 2025. That said, it's also before any other cost-saving moves they might make. They're not tops in cap space, but they are around 12th at the moment. [They're second in the division; BUF and MIA are near the cap, while the JEST have ~$100M to waste spend.]

Pretty young? He's 30, will be 31 when next season starts.
Its pretty much time to move on from him actually.

That's a recipe for disaster. Bradbury and Wilson are the weak links on the O-line. Especially with the running game.

BOTH need to be improved upon.

A consolation prize of Connor McGovern wouldn't be bad. Heck, I'd sign both. McGovern would be an upgrade at LG over Wilson or he could slot in at RG if the Pats decided to move on from Onwenu.

31 may be old for some positions, but certainly not for OL's.

We may bring in someone to improve the OL, but Bradbury will stay. My guess is that he will start, but he would be a fine backup.

Bradbury made all the sense in the world and was fine for a rebuilding team, especially one with the OL in shambles. But if the pats keep this upward trajectory and want to be Super Bowl contenders they absolutely need to improve their center position.
My hope is that Wilson is learning the ropes and will be their future center, the sooner that happens the better.

Brown as a IOL backup is more than good, nice deal.

They have like 10 Sixth Rounders.
It’s a deep draft, and I like the people running it for us.

By now I think Keion White has been active enough for the 49ers to get our 7th round pick back.

Good depth signing. Lowe has been better than last year... but IDK how i feel about him as the long term tackle back up. He's okayish in that role, but is there someone a bit better we can get i wonder? Curious where Bryant is. I think Munford has been a good signing too.

While i still don't love our OL depth, it is clearly better now than it was last year.

So if we could get everyone back (except we cut and plug someone we like into Onwenu's starting spot) how do we feel about this depth chart?

IOL: Wilson ????? Bradbury Brown Wallace
OT: Moses Campbell Lowe Munford Bryant

Personally i'd like to upgrade Bradbury too... he was brought here to be a run guy, and that hasn't happened at all... Been okay on passing downs, which is the opposite of what we thought we'd get. So I'd like to upgrade that spot too. Also would like to upgrade Wallace... it says a lot he couldn't get on the field last game. They didn't trust him for a single snap. So i think all 3 should be on the block, It be a big turnover, but for the best IMO.

As for the OTs... I'd be okay running it back.

Yes, the team should sign 6 all pros or more, all to team friendly contracts. If you think that the weakest position is center with Bradbury and Wilson, so be it. We can continue to use lots of cap space and draft picks at the position.

I'm all for signing a top OL. However, I think that it is downright silly to think that our weakness is at center when we have Bradbury, Wilson and Brown.
