The default position should be: we need to just keep building up the lines on both sides at top of the draft. We can acquire a weapon in trade/FA, but high-end D/O linemen are hard to find anywhere other than the draft.

Now that's the default. But looking at the roster realistically we need more STARS everywhere other than QB and maybe CB so if a great player slips down at any position we can always skip the default (pick linemen) to take BPA. I'd happily take a potential star LB/S/WR/TE/RB/S over just a solid DL or OL for this roster. This roster is 1-2 star players away on BOTH sides of the ball from being a top of the line every year contender. Drake, Gonzo, and maybe Williams are our only truly blue-chip caliber players (not counting Marcus Jones on special teams). Maybe Campbell and Henderson can develop into blue chippers but they certainly aren't there yet.
What also affected the pass rush was Keon white was expected to make a big leap.. we know how that turned out.. had white remained here and worked out bought in I believe the pass rush effectiveness rate would have been far better.. Vrabel needs another draft and FA to add to the pass rush as well as overall depth.

Like WR's, it seems like BB didn't really try. Since Parcells drafted McGinest, the best edge rusher the Pats drafted was almost 20 years later in Chandler Jones. Richard Seymour and Jarvis Green (underrated player) don't qualify. Trey Flowers was decent, but very overrated by fans. And as you mentioned Josh Uche had one fluke season. I think Hightower was a very underrated rusher who would've been a standout playing edge. I think he was nerfed when he was forced to MLB after Mayo and Collins departed.

Given that Vrabel was an OLB, we'll see if he puts more emphasis on drafting pass rushers. I think he will.
Judon got released should Vrabel make a call??

Yes.
He's completely washed.
Would I take him now to have him strap it up for 10-15 snaps a game? I dunno, does he have it in him?

He looked really bad in Miami.
As a depth veteran player.. the depth at edge is a problem he'd be just a depth option to spell Chaisson or Landry..

Someone capable of using a pass rush move, at the very least.

If you watch Jennings, it's actually insane that all these years in the league at this point, and he's never done a swim move, or a bull rush.

Or a Tully Banta Cane patented spin move. Spins himself right out of the play.

I totally agree with what your saying. But I have to think it would be worth exploring. He is 33, could Vrabel get him fired up to make a run at it and perhaps get a super bowl ring and then he could ride off in the sunset. Had he just checked out with the Miami? Is there anything left in the tank?

I don't necessarily disagree. Is he better for 10 snaps a game than the practice squad guys you're running out there right now? Probably. Is it worth bringing him in for 5 or 6 games? I dunno, maybe.

He does look bad this year, like, really bad, but that's in comparison to 2021 Judon where he was one of the best pass rushers in the league.

He's stop-gap depth at this point, but it's somewhere where they actually need stop-gap depth. It will be interesting to see how Vrabel plays this one.

I mean, would Judon love to play 10 snaps against Baltimore? Something else to consider.

With Spillane in a boot, the line should move up to make BAL even more of a favorite.

Davis was clearly playing injured. Even injured, he was much better than Woods.

D is hurting and depth is thin

Hey Offense can't fall asleep for a half and Drake Maye Maye can't be so Inaccurate. You Gotta win a Shootout sometimes: Offense wins us this game: the Peyton Manning Colts use to win like that.

We pull this one out we we won't even need him for our Last Two. Those Two Teams already Quit. Get ready for the Playoffs Spillane.

What we need most out of this game is to be healthier after the game than before.

Our #1 issue going into the playoffs is health.

And, yes, as cap has been yelling for two years, we really do need a better #4 CB. It is NOT enough to say that no one else has 4 good corners. We had the money to get a better #4. We have the money and draft capital to get a better #4 CB going forward.

Jones played hurt the entire second half, kid gutted it out, you can see in the GDT where I mentioned he hurt himself.

That wasn't a priority for THIS year though.
For next year, absolutely. And many people have been saying that. Another replacement-level corner (who is what you could have gotten this offseason) would have made no difference on Sunday.

Marcus is very critical to the success of this Team. Marcus is one of those Special Players we cannot afford to lose.
