Credit to me, I read through a decent amount of this thread so far.

Progress isn’t a straight line. Disappointing loss for sure, bad kickoff coverage, bad defensive adjustments, the patriots injuries on defense definitely hurt them, and Maye didn’t get it done.

On that last one, he will ultimately show that he can do it or not. It’s not something really something to freak out about at this point. Honestly, there are really no devastating losses until the playoffs and at this point the pats are still alive for the number one seed, so I think probably a deep breath would be a good idea.

Lots to say here...

First is Maye is not ready to take over games. He is another off season away from that. We've seen him be too inconsistent. Too streaky. I'm not blaming him for the loss, but he isn't in Allen's class yet. And that's okay. Lost STs badly today. Defense needed a big play and got none. No turnovers. They maybe should have had one, but you need to find a way to get another then.

Even with calls, allow 5 TD drives in a row is really bad. I think the Pats offense took their foot off the gas with the play calling. They where taking risk early and it worked.... they tried to play a bit conservative and the 2nd and it hurt them.

I said before the game a shoot out is in the Bill's favor, and it was. We need our D to keep teams in check. The Bills forced it into a shoot out, and that is not the Pat's game. They need to figure out how to make a play and get a spot when momentum is against them. A tipped pass or something at the right time would have been huge and it just didn't happen.

So was giving up a last play length of the field multiple lateral play to Miami in 2018. You don’t fold your tent after you do “unacceptable” things
Lmao The Brady Pats already were established and that was on the road
A 21 pt lead at home never occurred in the Brady years if youre going to compare

We watched for 20 years, 2 minutes to go, 2 timeouts even starting from the 20..you felt the other team was cooked. Thats what we want to see from Maye, the same feeling. If he can't do it then he isn't worth 65 per year. It's very early, but other young QBs have had those drives themselves. He is an outlier right now. It needs to be fixed.
While there is room to improve, this loss is not solely on Maye. To win tight games against good teams, the QB needs at least one weapon that cannot be stopped when the game is on the line or in the red zone. Diggs played that role in the first Buffalo game, he was not much of a factor today. A winning QB also needs a defense that can stop the run and make stops when necessary.

The amount of zone they played was ridiculous, what’s the point of having Gonzo, paying Davis all that money to play that soft ********. Man worked so well the first game, hopefully they learned their lesson today.
Scared ****less of Allen's legs

When is the last time the Patriots blew a 21 point lead at home. 35 years ago? It's unacceptable to get a lead that large. And do virtually nothing the rest of the game.

This is how Atlanta blew a SB. Not putting the dagger in a team
1978. Thats how many craptastic teams in Patriots history had the opportunity to NOT do that and.....this team does that. Really not a record you want to have, and I doubt we will have any footage of Vrabel high fiving the guys today.

Thats another thing. You show the post game speech after wins, show it after losses as well.

What does that mean? Unacceptable? What is the consequence? Unacceptable to you so you quit being a fan? Unacceptable to the cia hung staff so players get cut? Unacceptable to ownership so you fire the coach?
Or just unacceptable so you get a license to ***** and whine?
Unacceptable in that we have signs of a fraudulent team

So if it “unacceptable” what is the consequence. That word means there must be a consequence.

I agree. It might be different against a different QB. But against the best QB in the NFL the soft zone stuff is NUTS.
Playing a lot of man against a good scrambling QB can be a recipe for disaster. The DBs and LBs have their backs turned in coverage. They didn’t let Allen run today. I agree the zone was too soft at times, but they seemed determined to not let Allen beat them by scrambling.

Blowing a 21 pt lead at home is unacceptable. Yall can sugar coat it all you want
So if they lost the game by the exact same score but it was back and forth all game, would that have been acceptable? What if they gave up a 21 point lead to start the game and their comeback fell short? Acceptable?

Came out and punched the Bills in the mouth. THey adjusted, we **** the bed. We'll recover and take the division. Sky is not falling people. The Bills are a great team. I hope we get another chance to beat them.

This was not the Super Bowl, or even the playoffs. And one of the things the coaches say about Maye is that he learns quickly from negative events

Yep. It’s a team game. The Patriots lost to a good team after a 10 game winning streak.

5 straight TDs , 100% in the RZ, 7 yards per play in the 2nd half. This is all on the defense. yes offene didnt help itself but Defense was the reason we lost. We needed a stop or two.
