Patriots Rumor Isaiah Likely - Future Patriot?

It's Bye week, and I'm bored.

Imagine what Drake Maye could do with Hunter Henry and Isaiah likely in 2-TE sets.

Likely has never topped 500 yards receiving in his career and currently only has 248 with the Ravens. I'm not very impressed.

Likely is 6-4 but I don't think he replaces Mack Hollins as our big body, does the dirty work WR.

Edit: I just saw that Likely is a TE. I'm not sure he's better than Hooper but if we lose Hoop to free agency then I'd be open to looking at Likely.

Here's what I'll say.. both players are good and have potential to be even better.. FA 2026 I'm sure Vrabel contacts them both expressing interest.

Agreed on the everything else you posted.

Nice call Twin: your man KP had a night last night. Maybe some of our fellow Patsfans might start to come around on him now. Or they might say: "even a Blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while." I wonder if Kyle Pitts is now Likely or Isaiah UnLikely.

Let me revise my previous salary minimum estimate for Pitts. I think he’s going for minimum 12 per worth a chance to reset the TE market. Someone will overpay.

I think it’s going to impact Likely’s contract negotiations as well. Unless someone blows his socks off with an early offer, smart agent would have him wait until Pitts signs and potentially resets the market.

Another extension for the Ravens with a big time, upcoming free agent. They had Andrews, Jones, Lindebaum and Likely as 4 guys due for long term/sizable deals and now 4 are extended.

If the Pats are going to get someone from the Ravens next offseason, I would rather have Linderbaum than Likely. Linderbaum is one of the top centers in the league and the Ravens cannot franchise him because it is too much money. It is the same reason they didn't give him his fifth year option.

There are better WRs available than Likely. I still think AJ Brown is destined for the Patriots.

Why would you go for likely when Pitts is going to be a free agent probably one of the most underutilized TE out there. Pitts learn from Henry sounds way better

An upgrade at center would be pretty nice. I feel like Bradbury does fine in the passing game but doesn't generate much push in the run game. That might be part of why we've struggled to run the ball lately.

KP have patriots written all over him.. how many times have we seen former high draft picks that didn't reach potential come here and succeed over the years??.. likely have to learn how to get his fee down in bounds.. rule numero Uno for a pass catcher...

He’s averaged fewer yards and TD’s than Hooper, although it’s close. I see a number of Ravens games being down here. I think PF2 has it right. He’s streaky, looks unstoppable some games and some games you don’t see him. I think he’s a very nice complementary player, not really a game changer.

But I’d be happy to be proven wrong.

He just caught his first TD of the season, draft a TE.

Why does a first round bust have " Patriots written all over him?" I will seriously question their sanity if the go after Pitts.

Why does everyone consider him a bust? In his healthy seasons, he's averaging over 60 catches a year and he has 3 more games this year to add to that. Plus, he's only had one season where he missed any games. He isn't Gronk but that's still pretty good production. It isn't his fault the Falcons were stupid enough to blow the #4 pick on him.

This 1000%. This. He’s not a bust. If you look at the years he wasn’t hurt he’s more productive than Hunter Henry. He’s just not nearly good enough to have gone before Chase.

There are very few TE in the league to go 3 TD or 161 yards in a game. He’s interesting.

I remain conflicted about him. I will probably argue both side of this discussion.

The #4 pick is why he's considered bust, just as Will Campbell will be considered bust if he ends up being just an average left tackle. When you pick a player at #4 you expect them to be one of the best players in the game at their position, not just an average player. And you expect a TE you pick at 4 to dominate in the red zone, and Pitts has averaged 3 touchdowns a season, that's a bust at TE.

Cole Strange was considered a bust by most people because he was an average guard, and iirc he was picked at #32.

After he smokes our slow linebackers next week everyone will be onboard with signing him in the offseason

Here is a second vote for Linderbaum - seems too good to be possible. Give Linderbaum the money saved cutting Onwenu, and draft a RG early. 4/5ths of the OL is rebuilt, and draft a RT in 2027. OL problem not only solved, but dominant.
