What happens with the AFCE is NE loses their next two, wins their last two, and Buffalo wins out?
The Pats would win the AFCE.

I agree our offense has a lot more confidence and the development of Henderson and (to a much lesser extent) Williams adds more explosiveness. Similarly, that was also Gonzo's first game back and he's been playing much better since then.

But our run defense is significantly worse than it was (lack of Milton and Harold Landry/Chiasson wearing down).

Whoever gets the lead first is big in this game. If the Patriots can get to 10 before they can, it helps mitigate the run defense loss. The Patriots gotta take every chance they can to get the lead and hold it. Force Allen to pass more.

Same thing happened in the Bengals game. Chase Brown may have had over 100 yards with a 5.6 apc, but a majority of that was in the first half. They abandoned it in the second half.

That's probably the biggest change on either team since week 5. Their D will either be lacking Bosa or he will be playing very banged up, so that's a plus but Bills aren't going to get back-breaking pressure regardless, the strength of their D is largely Corner/Safety play.

If their secondary is their strength, I like our chances.

Chompin' at the bit for this game! Excited!

Been playing around with the playoff Machine and the way I see it if Buffalo wins out and the Pats win two of four the Pats win the AFCE. The road to the #1 seed is only a better record than the Broncos. I think the bills have played tougher of late but if the bengals dont have those two turnovers the BIll lose last weeks game. There is little chance the Bill's miss the playoff so the only way the Bills win the AFCE is to win out and the Pats lose 3 of 4. Anything is possible and both the Jets and Miami are playing better lately. Im calling this game a 50/50, I have no idea who wins this one and I hate the week off leading into this one. NO turnovers, have to get turnovers, MUST STOP the Run (not so great at that latey), stop Kinkade, dont let Allen run around, I think we need a solid running game for certain.

Analysts are picking Buffalo because of Josh Allen. And because they are "desperate". Does desperation mean bad receivers will suddenly get open? The OC stops calling dumb play calls? The bad run defense suddenly gets better? They lost to Miami & Atlanta on the road. They would have lost to a bad Bengals team sans a miracle. Josh Allen was present for all of these games.

Media seems to be making the Bills out to be some sort of elite team. They aren't. They have a great QB/RB. They lack at HC imo. The Patriots might get beat. But it won't be because the Bills are a juggernaut.

Media still obsessed with Bills/Chiefs/Ravens

It's for the simple fact that the media doesn't want to admit they were wrong with their preseason picks.

Weather question for all you in the 617.....
Has the team had a chance this season to practice in conditions similar to those expected on Sunday afternoon: 32 degrees, light snow 1-3"?

I never got the love for Baltimore to begin with. What exactly have they and Lamar accomplished in this league? They have an embarassing home AFC title game loss and are 3-6 in the postseason. Their wins include: beating a Tannehill led Titans team, beating a young & inexperienced Stroud led Texans team and defeating a collapsing Steelers squad.

With Buffalo, the issue is always suspect coaching/bad defense in critical situations. I see nothing from those two phases to indicate it won't cost them this year. They keep thinking Allen=SB berth!!!. That's not how it works. The Chiefs would not have made the last few SB's with a mediocre to bad defense. Even with Mahomes & Reid.

The Chiefs is surprising. Nobody could have predicted they would be in this spot. I knew there would be a regression. Just not like this. I can see why it is talked about so much. It would be like prime Brady/Bill needing lots of help to get into the postseason. It's crazy to think of.

Overall, I dont feel good about this game. Bills will be coming in hot and no Williams is going to make a difference. Williams was very active in the last game.

They don't get in if Houston and the Chargers have a better record
Bills are all but in. Unless Allen gets injured.

Bills have Jets & Browns left. They have 4 losses. They beat KC.

Texans have AZ & Raiders left. They have 5 losses. They beat KC

Jags have Jets & Colts left. They have 4 losses. They beat KC

Thus, the second place AFC south team & second placed AFC East team are all but guaranteed a WC spot. The final spot comes down to the Chargers/Chiefs.

Winning out, while the Chargers go winless or 1-3 (Chargers losing to Denver is a must), gets KC (at 6-7 right now) in. If Denver has nothing to play for, they would throw the Chargers (at 9-4 now) game to keep KC out if need be.

Going 2-2 or 1-3 (but the one win being vs Denver) gets LAC in. They could go 0-4 and get in if KC losses two games.

The Colts have nothing at QB. They have five losses. Their remaining schedule: @Seahawks, vs 49ers, vs Jags, @Houston. I see three losses at minimum. I am writing them off.

The run defense has gotten worse since his injury. James Cook is a top three RB in the league. I think the Patriots should sellout to stop the run. Make those receivers try and beat them. "James Cook cannon beat us" should be highlighted by Vrabel. Allen will make plays. But he will also make mistakes eventually.

Next year they should aim for better depth in the offseason. It feels like every backup they have is a HUGE downgrade to the starter. I see lot of other teams not having that problem. And it was not an issue in the BB/TB era.

Well looks like Landry might be out for the game, that will be problematic.

Nah, this is a biggest game NE has had for years. Buffalo has controlled this division since 2020. People have been talking all year about how NE's had an easy schedule. Well, here's their chance to send a message by sweeping Buffalo and reclaiming the division. But it's bigger than Buffalo as NE is keeping pace with Denver for the #1 seed. This is 1996 all over again where Buffalo was in control of the division since the late 80's. Had NE lost to Buffalo at home, Buffalo would've won the tie breaker and again taken the division at 10-6. This is not time for a home let down against a divisional opponent.

I agree. Buffalo has been hanging on for dear life this entire season and losing again to NE is going to send a message to management that big changes are going to need to be made. It's not like they've had major injuries, it's more that their team is getting passed up by NE. I also see Buffalo slipping up and losing at least one more game. I could see Buffalo getting bounced in the first round if they don't win the division.

They may need to make " big changes" but that wont be easy to do. Free agency in 26 is dogshit, which leaves them having to rely on their drafts to turn things around. And they haven't been tearing things up in recent drafts. .

Wow, wilson with another fulll practice. Did not expect him to only miss one game but thats great if he can go . Bosa limited again.

I saw something the afternoon on NFL Today. I don't watch it most days, but as I was flipping through, I saw that Orlofsky was on and he has some interesting breakdowns sometimes and today was no different.

He happened to be breaking down the Seattle defense, in a discussion on the Colt game this week. It was interesting because the Seahawk D is very similar to the Texans D, which was VERY effective against the Bills offense, both their pass and run game. In Brief and without the X's and O's:

1. They give a lot of blitz looks with mostly 5-man fronts and then biltz in 5-7man rushes or drop into various coverages hoping to disguise the coverage and get the ball to come out quick. Those blitz looks are also good against the run as well as long as the LB's are tackling well.

2. The Bills were sacked EIGHT times and had 12 QB hits (BTW is a sack counted also as a QBhit or are they in addition to the sacks?) The Bills were held to 3 points in the 2nd half

3. I'm hoping the Pats took a LONG look at the Bills/Texans film during the off week and I wouldn't mind seeing that 5 man look featured against the Bills.

4. Picture it. Landry, Barmore, Tonga, Durden, Chassion
Davis
Spilllane Ellis Gonzo

Woodson Hopkins

the options include sending Davis and dropping Landry or twisting the DL or have on of the LB's coming. Lots of combinations you can use. Check out the NFL today show if you catch it. Orlofsky does it a lot better than me, even though he was talking about other teams. You can see the potential of the scheme.
