2025 / 2026 College watch thread

The Indy defense stepped up big tonight too. Keeping Ohio to 10 points is no small feat.

The Ohio QB is sub par IMO
He's been great all year. He's a RS freshman up against an outstanding defense. He also threw as many TDs as Mendoza.

Lol, he has a good chance of being the #1 pick once he is eligible.

Sayin is a freshman. I don't think he has ever been tested by a defense like this. He will learn from it, maybe even this season.

Well, he wasnt great last night.

Mendoza was though and he has not faced a defense like OSU. We can make excuses until the cows come home.

Mendoza threw as many INTs as he did TDs. He only threw for 222 yards (less than Sayin), he also had a lower completion percentage than Sayin. On only four visits to the RZ, they only scored 1 TD. The team only scored 13 points. No, that's not all on Mendoza and yes, he made some clutch throws, helped out by quality contested catches, but by no definition was that performance "great". It was good (and very good in parts) but that's as far as I'll go.

I commend you trying to talk sense to the leading site troll.

No, he wasn't.

Mendoza also struggled, but to his credit, he overcame. That's why he'll get the Heisman over Sayin this year. He's also got 2 years more experience.

Wouldn't rush to judgment on Sayin based on 1 game.

Mendoza completed the throws when he had to.

Sayin did not. Blaming the Refs is weak when OSU was holding too.

Sayin is only 6' - 1".

There are not many QB his size that make it in the NFL.

To be fair, Patricia is essentially running an NFL defense for OSU so Mendoza got a taste of what it will be like at the next level if he is fortunate to get there. He acquitted himself pretty well and it will serve him well int he playoffs.

Worth noting it was the first time Sayin had to play from behind in the second half at OSU.

That was true for the entire team.

Ohio St. never trailed in the 2nd half all season. Indiana slugged out some tough 4th quarter road wins against Oregon and Penn St. I wondered what Ohio St. would do if an opponent hung with them.

This may help them for the playoffs. They are still far more talented than any other team.

Truth is, it wasn't Mendoza that deserved credit for that win, it was the defense who were outstanding.

It was the whole team, though defense dominated this game. Bit Mendoza made some clutch plays.

So Miami *****ed long enough to screw Notre Dame out of a playoff spot.

The semis should be good.

Ohio State v Georgia
Oregon v Indiana

Seems the most likely.

If I was a betting man I’d put some good money on Georgia.
