Can he "stretch the field"???

To clarify, after reading some of the replies:

1. Likely is a FA in 2026 if not re-signed by the Ravens.

2. The general thinking has been that Baltimore wouldn't let him hit FA, but with the extension to Mark Andrews it now seems like they will.

25yo TEs with Likely's skills don't hit the market that often. Hunter Henry will be 30 and in the last year of his contract, and Austin Hooper is 30 and a FA. So Likely seems like a possible opportunity, who could thrive with Drake Maye.

Or, the board could all go into crisis mode if KC signs him to replace Travis Kelce.

Yep. I think he can be a weapon.

Is he a stellar blocker? No, but he has room to grow. And worst case, he is a red zone threat, which they need. They can still draft and develop a TE, but their cupboard is bare right now as far as young TEs go, so signing a 25 year old guy who could blossom into something is absolutely worth trying.

TBH, he seems like exactly the type of player Maye would love to throw to.

But he is a good blocker. He was not in college, but has grown into it. PFF has him as one of the top blocking TE in the league. I am not part of the PFF cult, but they are right in this case.

Not endorsing signing him…just posting this as an fyi. Before the 2025 season started….

In Week 1, Likely caught nine passes for 111 yards and a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs. He was the team’s leading receiver in the playoffs and recorded 73 yards with a touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in Round 2.

For the season as a whole, Likely posted career-highs in receptions (42), receiving yards (477), and touchdown catches (six). He showcased elite athleticism and receiving abilities in key spots while also improving significantly as a run-blocker and pass-blocker. These efforts contributed to him making a 15-spot jump in PFF’s rankings.

I stand corrected if so.

This bye week will be rough...

On the contrary, we get to watch a whole lot of teams lose, and some will boost our chances of advancing.

I looked at Sportrac and it looks like the Ravens are in pretty good shape cap-wise. Prior to the Andrews deal they had $58 Mil in cap space in 2026. I have to assume they'd try to retain him, but perhaps he wants to test the market.

We need the rest and practice to clean up some things: Hopefully Jared Wilson is cleared to play next week. Benny Brown been kind of underwhelming at LG.

Last year KC might have been the more desirable destination for FAs.

This year the Pats should be the most desirable destination.

If Mikes Garrett was a FA we’d already be preparing a contract offer for him.

I like our H Henry who's on pace to have His Best Season career wise. Looks like he'll hit the 800yds plateau or very close to it.

It is possible I am in sour grapes mode as I still think the Ravens have a fair amount of money under the cap and he will most likely resign or be tagged

Likely's skill set is fairly average, outside of being younger and his lack of injury history I don't see any great upside to Hooper or any other JAG. Again, he'sokay but don't we want better than okay?
He's a better downfield threat than Hooper is, 6 years younger and still has room to improve.
If you can get him at a good price, it will also save you a draft pick at age 25 about to be 26.

We'll find out whether Likely hits FA. I'd be a tad surprised if the Ravens extend both, but it's possible. Definitely something to keep an eye on.

Good point, really, we don't know what Andrews contract structure is.
They very well could keep both, and honestly would be wise to do so.

Jees, P, where have your read a SINGLE story that said Brown was "underwhelming". You are supposed to take those depression pills EVERY day, man. Look at what happens when you skip days. You write that kind of crap.

Going back to TE- I see it as a priority need this off season. We will probably keep Henry for another 2 years and probably pass on Hopper who will get another job. We need to get younger and more athletic and a guy like Likely should be prototype of what we are looking for, but I don't see the Ravens letting him go unless someone over pays. At any rate, we should add a FA to at least replace Hooper and hopefully replace Henry eventually. And I wouldn't hate seeing a day 2 TE as well IIRC there were a couple of good ones that came in round 4 to Cleveland and the Jets this year who have been very productive.

I will say that the Ravens have perhaps the most extensive history of any team of letting players walk in FA, especially day 3 picks who cash in on 2nd contracts. Matt Judon is one of many examples. So it wouldn't shock me if they are not close with Likely and chose to extend Andrews, or if Likely does hot the FA market.

Not LIKELY to happen....
