2026 Draft: WR

I agree, it's something I've been saying for the last month. however, the late first options aren't great for me right now and that's exactly where the depth of strength in this WR class is. Boston, Brazzell, Bell, Concepcion are all potential BPAs at that point and we do have 4 potential long term issues at the position. That might be solved by signing Boutte and Pop to long-term deals pre-draft and then it's much less of an issue but I do think it's worth pointing out that there are decent options available.

This draft class at 29-32 gets a lot weaker if you take WR off the board.
Agree.

Mississippi State WR Brenen Thompson is supposed to be the fastest receiver in CFB. He's only 5'9, 170 but apparently ran a 10.1 100m in high school. It's not like he isn't productive either with 47 catches for 848 yards. He ranks 4th in all of CFB for average depth of target.

There was one play in this Ole Miss game where Thompson ran past a corner. I don't think I've ever seen a WR that fast before. Sadly the pass was underthrown and the defender was able to make a play but the difference in speed between him and the CB was quite something.

The two vids from his time at Oklahoma last year. He's the slot guy nearest the OL

There are three possibilities where I think they might consider a WR.

1. A physical drop off in Digg's play or they want out of his contract which I believe is possible after this year.

2. Kayshon Boutte doesn't want to extend but prefers to hit the open market.

3. They think they can upgrade on Hollins.

Personally I don't think any of those are likely given the chemistry in the WR room and their success with Maye.
I hate those possibilities.

WR1 in the draft, WR2 on his team.
