Vs Lions in 2010

Full game :

Pats trailed 14-3 with 2 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. 17-10 at the half. Tied 24-24 at the end of 3 quarters. Final: Pats 45 Lions 24.

Alphonso Smith finger wagged Brady after a pick then things went very badly for him after that. Lol

That was a fun team. Straight up destroyed everyone in their path in the 2nd half of the season. They beat each of the teams that wound up in the final 4. Just unfortunate they pulled a stinker rd 2

What a second half turnaround.

Detroit's 2nd Half Possessions:
Interception
Touchdown
Missed FG
Punt
Interception
Turnover on Downs

New England's 2nd Half Possessions:
Punt
4 plays, 26 yards, 2:08, Touchdown
3 plays, 87 yards, 1:38, Touchdown
5 plays, 64 yards, 2:15, Touchdown
7 plays, 84 yards, 4:25, Touchdown
4 plays, 12 yards, 2:29, Touchdown
2 victory-formation kneel downs, end of game

- Most points ever scored by the Patriots versus Detroit (45)
- Largest margin of victory ever by Patriots versus Detroit (21)
- Deion Branch, who had just rejoined the Pats a month earlier, w/2 TD & 113 yards
- Branch's only 2-TD game with the Pats (also had three with Seattle)
- Detroit could absolutely not defend Wes Welker
- 8 receptions on 10 targets, 90 yards, 2 TD, plus 5 first downs
- His only reception that did not result in a TD/1st down went for 11 yards
- Fifth 2-TD game of his career; 77th consecutive game with a reception
- Devin McCourty with the first two-interception game of his career
- McCourty's 5th pick of the season, 2nd most for a Patriot rookie ever
- One was for 50 yards, setting up a BJGE TD
- Tom Brady with his second game with a perfect 158.3 passer rating
- Tied franchise record with six consecutive games w/no interceptions
- Broke his own record with 199 consecutive pass attempts without a pick
- Moved past John Hadl and Boomer Esiason into 14th place on the NFL's all-time list with 248 TD passes

I thought I remembered Smith being released after the game but that was a Dolphins corner that took a bad route to Welker and let him take it 99 yards for a TD in a different game.

The first half was awful, Pats had no energy.
Stafford was hurt, I believe it was Shaun Hill who played QB for the Leos and they were definitely the better team for a good chunk of the game, then the Pats turned it on and ran away with it.
It was a weird, ugly game.

I remember Calvin Johnson was doing Calvin Johnson things in that game.

I had more than a few adult beverages, so I don't remember the specifics of the game near as well as when I watch on tv.
My sister got us tix for my bday (she's a Lions fan).
We got down there very early for the tailgate, rest is somewhat blurry

Long haired Tom Brady struggled in the postseason. As soon as he went back to his normal cut, things began to change.

Yeah, the poor sap who got punked by Welkah was Benny Sapp.

Smith didn't get cut after that game, but he did get benched IIRC.

Belichick traded for Branch just a few weeks before this game. Branch had 2 second half touchdowns to help us turn this one into a blowout.

I guess Vrabel did learn a few things from Bill about coaching. Like getting your players backs.

PS: be careful NAPOLian might revoke your mod card for putting Bill on the main page.

Jesus Brady was definitely a look haha

That game was crazy, great memory

Suh was such a piece of garbage, dirty player. Lucky he was able to ride Brady’s coattails to a championship with the Bucs before he retired. He was the only reason for me to root against the Lions in those days. Glad the Pats beat them, I remember that Thanksgiving game. Deion Branch’s touchdown. Honestly that whole Pats season was fun, aside from how it ended of course.
