Don't know why they're rushing him back with no chance to win the Division. That's Expansion Defense is a travesty.

Agreed. Robs post makes sense, they could be ramping up burrow this week for Thursdays game. Flacco needed a couple days to rest his shoulder . But you never know

Carnac Rob: just call me slow I didn't get it.

This is a tough one. Im thinking of going to the game Sunday and with the Bengals in the ****ter prices are slowly dropping everyday. I usually just wait as long as i can to kickoff to get the lowest price but Im a little worried if Burrow gets announced starter tomorrow they might go back up a bit. Or if hes officially ruled out they will continue falling. Decisions decisions!

They have until 4PM ET tomorrow to take him off IR. You will know around this time tomorrow.

Miami is the team most likely to beat the Pats next imo. Divisional rival who are playing better of late and usually tend to have one victory against the Pats every season.

Drake should be able to perform a clinic against that Bengals D.

Usually that win comes in Miami.

Which means through Saturday's walk through the Pats will still be forced to prepare for 2 different QB's which is probably also part of the 'will he or won't he' game being played. In fact it may well be the only reason for it

Bengals Defense 2025:

33.2 PPG
32nd in points allowed
32nd in yards allowed
31st against the pass
32nd against the run
32nd in yards per drive allowed (39.8)
32nd in points per drive allowed (2.98)
31st in Net Yards/Pass Allowed (7.1)
30th in Rush Yards/Carry (5.2)

Edit: As a reminder, there are 32 teams in the league.
We'll score but my concern is they will too. If we beat them decisively it's another big indicator about how far we can go this year. There's every reason to be very confident, but I don't equate Cinci w/ Burrows with the other bad teams we've beaten.

I agree. I don't equate Cincy with the other bad teams the Pats have beaten either, no one else's D is that bad

I feel like people either haven't a) seen the Bengals this year at all or b) don't really understand what historically bad defense actually means.

This is the worst defense of the 2020s, by a good margin, it's in shouting distance of a couple of those 0-16 teams. Also half this board's trade binky Hendrickson has another hangnail, so he'll be sitting this one out.

It is literally on pace to be the worst defense in the history of the NFL.

Unless he can play 4 positions on defense at the same time, it. doesn't. matter.

The Bengals have a historically bad defense.
Basically it matters because the better QB will keep the Bengals offense on the field and the Bengals defense off the field.

Furthermore, Burrow takes some of the sting of Chase not playing

Some struggle to grasp that.

1. The Bengals play the Ravens Thursday night which is a more important division game than the Patriots.
2. It is very doubtful Burrow would play both games. So which one to pick.
3. The Bengals are more likely to win if both Chase and Burrow play together.
4. Thursday is the more important opponent than Sunday, and Chase will be back to play with Burrow, so I think the Bengals will pick playing Burrow on Thursday over Sunday.

They’re desperate and dumb, Burrow plays Sunday imo.

IMO
This weeks practice was for Burrow playing Thursday night against Ravens
With the short week you don’t really practice the week of that game
Playing him 2 games in 4 days is malpractice just returning from a surgically repaired Grade 3 toe turf injury

It's simple, In the Bengals you have one of the top scoring offenses squaring off against the top rushing D, and a fair passing D. While the Pats O will be facing the worst run AND pass D's in the league... without their best player.

So, the Bengals go into the game knowing they HAVE to be a predominantly passing team to move the ball, and we know it too. And they are missing their best receiver.

The only POSSIBLE way we can lose this game is to lose the TO battle by 3. Give up a defensive TD, and a STs TD. It would probably take all 3.
It'll be a good test for our defense; there are things I'd like to see improve. But should the outcome be in doubt, Joe Borrows or no Joe Borrows? NO WAY!
With Joe Burrow, the Bengals can mount longer drives and keep the Pats offense off the field and keep this a lower scoring, closer game. He will have fewer offensive weapons at his disposal with the suspension, but they could keep this a last team with the ball type of game.
