Coaching hot seats

anyone think Pete Carroll might be one and done in Las Vegas?

I have a hard time seeing Davis & Brady making Carroll walk the plank but I could see him walking away, a genuine mutual parting versus the common face saving type we're used to

How many coaches are they going to pay though?

Given his age, he can't have too many options left

How many coaches are they going to pay though?

Davis sold over a billion in equity, he can afford to piss through a few more coaches. Message wise though Carroll is liked and respected, not a good look to make him walk the plank

He can, but he'll also get raked over he coals nationally for paying 5 head coaches at the same time if they fire Carroll.

He does have the option of walking away on his own terms though. just sayin'

Again, I said I don't believe they'll fire him

When you look around the NFL, how many coaches do you see on TV and say "who"? Back in the day, coaches really had to pay their dues and make a name for themselves before getting the opportunity, but now coaches only need a pulse to get hired. It's quite sad which is another big reason the NFL has taken a nose dive. Watching Dan Campbell continually going for it on SNF was an embarrassment to their fans. The sad part is, there are no candidates you can think of currently in the NFL that would be good fit. That how bad it has gotten.

SB Nation has these guys on the hot seat:
Jonathan Gannon - Arizona He will get fired. Guys like this had no business even being hired.
Mike McDaniel - Dolphins How does he still have a job? He'll be gone by season's end.
Sean McDermott - Bills He is probably safe because there are no alternatives, but his time will eventually run out if Josh Allen asks for it.
Raheem Morris - Atlanta Another joke of a hire. I'd fired him.
Zac Taylor - Bengals He had his Cinderella moment, but Joe Burrow getting injured too much will get him fired. Also, awful GM.
Kevin Stefanski - Browns How in the world is this guy still a HC? This is why these bad coaches have 9 lives because there's nobody else available.

What do you think? Who is going and who gets to stay?

LVR should fire the guy who hired Pete and Chip Kelly, signed Geno and drafted a RB at #6
the team is in desperate need of a rebuild, and those 4 moves are the oppo of a rebuild.
I assumed Brady was brought in to help with this type of transitional decision making
perhaps it is he who is over his head?
they should have moved Crosby for picks, and worked on a timeline centered around Bowers.

Tomlin stays. He is on pace for another winning season. Rodgers is a band aid QB. Pitts front office has failed to find a QB to replace Ben. Even though Tomlin pissed away Bens career, that is Tomlins excuse.

Taylor stays. The Bengals kept Marvin Lewis forever and he lost in the post season WC round like clockwork. Lost Burrow for a sizeable portion of the season.

The Bills are following the Steelers blueprint for HCs.

It is a testament to a wider recognition that no mortal can fix the Jete that Aaron Glennis not on every short list of hot seats

Zac Taylor - Bengals He had his Cinderella moment, but Joe Burrow getting injured too much will get him fired. Also, awful GM.

You can't fire the owner. Duke Tobin is the Director of Player Personnel in Cincy but owner Mike Brown (90) still essentially acts as his own GM, Tobin does his bidding.

Even though they got a good record, the Eagles seem to be imploding.

Contract wise the QB would be tough to get rid of.

Will they dump coach instead if they don't get far in the playoffs ?

that team was inept the other night ... can't believe we lost to them
If the two teams played Sunday, NE wins in a blowout. Week 1 is always weird.

I never got the hire though. A 74 year old HC with a team that is many years away from competing for anything. I can't imagine he thought they would be a playoff contender.
