The Cards did it drafting Josh Rosen and Kyler Murray back to back.

But not back to back #1 picks. I just think this specific scenario makes it unlikely, but not impossible

If they draft a QB with the first again after Ward last year, they cement themselves as the Jets South.

Caleb in Chicago did not look good last year. And now, with a good coach, they are looking much better. Before wasting the #1 on another QB maybe get an actual HC and GM who know what they're doing.

Situation dependant.
Obv they liked Ward taking him #1, but people get it wrong all the time.
Not saying they did, but they see him everyday, and if they don't see signs of improvement and think someone like Mendoza is a stud, it's better to cut bait than hang on and delay the inevitable.

Is he going to do better with that thrash roster? They would have a losing record if Mahomes or prime Brady were starting this year.

They need to overhaul the front office, coaches, OL, receivers and most of the defense. Ownership is one of the worst in pro sports. Drafting another QB won't help them imo.

Jets issues start at the top. The fact bad QB's leave and go on to be successful elsewhere shows that.

Yep. Ownership and HC/GM issues. Deal with those and your QBs might have a chance to succeed.

Well Vrabel, Cowden, Stretch, Wolf and Highsmith did turn over like half of the roster. But it does show what solid coaching/personnel can do in a season or two.

I agree their franchise is a dumpster fire starting with the ownership.
That said, if you don’t have a QB you can’t be a serious contender in the NFL, you just can’t.
Tennessee would 100% be far better, and maybe even a playoff team with prime Brady or Mahomes. I disagree they would have a losing record.
Again, very early to say, but if they made a mistake with Ward (not saying they did), and you think their is a legit franchise QB in the draft, you cut your losses and take the QB.
It’s a poorly run franchise, so I’m sure whatever they do will be wrong.

I think the entirety of the jets problems start at the Top.. they over the years have had some very talented players.. revis probably at the top of the heap.. Woody woodchuck is the jets problem..

They overhauled HALF their starters, replacing terrible players with good players accross the board, yet we still had people yelling "worst roster in the league" until their throats gave out.

I just don't understand the hubris of HCs going to New Jersey thinking they're the one who will finally turn it all around. It's as if they didn't bother doing any homework which is particularly heinous when considering the big changes involved: moving to another state, buying a house, uprooting kids from schools, transferring them, etc.

Never heard of him. Anything to be concerned about? Sometimes backups end up playing better than the starters (re: Foles.... ugh).

Perfectly said. It's a top of the organization problem and it's existence has been for years.. yes.. in a market like NY far worse than Boston as far as how the sports media treats a losing team.

Coaches these days unless desperate need to really make calculated decisions taking a Job like the Jets..

Browning is awful. Saw him play on MNF here in Denver. He did nothing
