One of the reasons? RKK said he was unaware of it which means it embarrassed him so much he could not admit it. The survey, no doubt, shamed RKK into fixing stuff.
Sounds like some internal communications and lines of responsibility weren’t working very well. Hopefully those problems were addressed in addition to building a new upgraded facility. In a high functioning org there usually is an internal employee survey. Has been in most places I’ve worked. So they shouldn’t need the NFLPA survey, they should be out in front of it. But those are often clearly designed by HR for management concerns not employee satisfaction and well being. Getting player and staff inputs would be useful but I doubt that’s done. Might be a learning opportunity here for a truly outstanding team. Maybe Jonathan could take it on? lol.

Somebody no likey the annual black eye doled out by the Players Union, lol...

i say to the owners - stop being cheap, you are all billionaires, do better...

and to those who don't agree - lets put the word "billion" into perspective...
1,000,000 seconds (one million seconds) - 11 days, 13 hours, 46 minutes, and 40 seconds
1,000,000,000 seconds (one billion seconds) - 31 years, 8 months, 9 days, 1 hour, 46 minutes and 40 seconds
Well said.. NFL (not for profit loss.. )
That's how all these owners think.. anything that could potentially affect thier bottom line.. they are crying about.

On this issue that mindset has the potential to bite them in the ass. From past examples of the results from the player survey it would seem like a fairly small rock that doesn't hurt much to turn over. Just as from a parental standpoint allowing a token 'victory' can sometimes prevent a larger war. Accepting the therapeutic venting aspect of the public release of player survey info could be seen as the equivalent of the NFLPA and league letting the plow horse eat a soft apple before getting back to working the horse unmercifully

How did Bob get away with serving bologna sandwiches for so long? Was the old Foxboro stadium as much of a dump as Al Michaels put it on TNF? I've only been to a few stadiums. LA Coliseum is small and the seats are built for kids. Nothing memorable about the Rose Bowl. San Diego Chargers stadium was okay, just very ugly. I went to the previous Dallas Cowboys stadium right before it was demolished in 2004 and that was a complete dump. Driving up to it, it looked like sewage was on the roof. Anyone remember the old turf that looked carpet? I was even weirder looking seeing it up close.

Everything about Schaefer sucked but the sight lines, which were great. Fan amenities were nonexistent. Whether praying what you parked in was mud and not horse dung from the raceway next door, peeing off the top of the stadium because you couldn't wait an hour or two to get into one of the few men's rooms, dodging brawls, freezing your ass off on the child size space allotted to you on the aluminum bench, fighting the pitiful ingress/egress to both the stadium and your seat, despairing over the unsafe family environment or just feeling the contempt ownership showed in all the above Schaefer was a truly 'unique' experience. Looking at it from a player standpoint calling the facilities primitive would have been a genuine compliment. Still, we felt lucky to have the dump. Without a 'permanent' home relocation of the team was going to be forced by the league. We owe a debt to late Bills owner Ralph Wilson for freely providing the plans for the Bills not yet built stadium (the Sulivans took every dime they could out of that design btw) and helping secure the financing the Sullivans eventually f'd up. Without Wilson's aid the team would have been gone

after attending my first and only game there I observed that my high school had better bleachers. In the 1960s. In a stadium built in the 1940s, or maybe earlier.

I'd go to USC games at the Coliseum during the Carroll days and there were sections that just had wooden benches to sit on. It was horrible. The last game I went to was when the Rams played while their during the 2016 season. The seats where tiny and very uncomfortable. It's way better to just watch games at home. God bless the fans that attend.

Well said. It was a dump but it was our dump. The bathroom in our endzone had one of those circular sinks where you would step on the peddle to get the water to come out, no one could ever wash their hands because there would be guys lined up around the sink urinating in it. That kind of describes the whole stadium.

Yes sir, our dump and OUR damn team

And we still waited 2 hours to piss in those sinks. Woulda been 5 if it weren't for those communal (ahem) wash stations. God bless those sinks.

Only went to Schaefer once when I was 11, and I remember there were random Doofin fans in the stands starting fights (it was an Oilers game). I thought it was cool, but older me would probably have taken a more dim view.

The Pats even pulled out a victory that day.

I know Gillette is supposed to be outdated, but I guess I still think of it as new...because I'm getting older I guess.

not true... the open air toilets were excellent... never a wait...

Point well taken, provided you were willing to climb up to the top of the place with a full bladder.
One also had to exercise caution not letting anything 'important' get stuck on the frosty chain link too but that's another matter.
Some folks, not saying who mind you but 'some' enterprising folks, would carefully wrap themselves in blankets we were allowed to carry in around themselves in such a way as to relieve themselves in their empties. Unfortunately said empties didn't always remain upright afterwards but that was a problem for the people in front of them.

Ahh the 'good' old days... good times... good times

It was a complete and total ****hole. But you could see the game beautifully from every part of the stadium.

Foxboro Raceway had better toilets.

Better off taking your kids for a stroll down Washington St through the Combat Zone. It was safer and they'd see less behavior requiring an explanation

I spent a lot of time in 306 - it was employees/players family's section - so we missed a lot of the good stuff up there.

Except when it rained...then we got the same stuff.

You are aware that billion dollar businesses never think long-term, right?

Current corporate mindset is all about quarterly results. They rarely, if ever, reinvest in the business. R&D, employee retention, anything that cuts into the near-term bottom line is abhorrent to most corporations.

You ever get there and see some schlub park on the 'dirt' only to have it rain and discover that it wasn't dirt?
More than once I saw some poor tow truck driver have to yard a vehicle out of the soupy horse dung some first timer mistakenly parked on.

Yeah, it happened all the time because of the racetrack next door.

By the way, anyone who's not aware, this wasn't some fancy-pants Churchill Downs-type racetrack. This was the degen of the degen gamblers. Harness racing.
