We gotta pay Tonga

Can’t let him leave that is all.

Have a feeling someone will make him a Milton Williams size offer.
Can't get over how Great he's becoming....he's our Veta Vea a space eating DT who can also rush and play FB. Tonga is a Jack of all trades type player.

No question.

He's been a great pickup. I think the Pats won't let him out of the building to even hear other offers.

Nah... He is not a sack machine . More of run stuffer.

He will make somewhere between 6-10 million a year . Allow him to test market and match it or offer him this range now.

I also want all those who said Tonga was a worthless signing to man up and admit they were wrong.
There were plenty on this site who said he was a 3rd string type of guy, and won't play much.
We're quickly looking like the old Pats who made mid type of players look like stars. I hope we don't lose Tonga.
Although - Farmer is also a backup DT who has looked pretty good in moments. Not that he's as large as Tonga.

Re-sign Tonga and the DL is good to go. I’m liking this Durden fella as the 4/5 guy as well.

Barmore
Williams
Tonga
Farmer
Durden

I'll happily eat crow on that. Practically a vet min signing, approaching 30 (he's age 29), 3 teams in 4 years, limited skill set. I viewed it as a depth, compete for a spot in camp type of signing. He's carved out a solidified rotation role for himself on the DL and is contributing HIGH LEVEL to the run defense. One of those low cost signings that ends up just being a home run for you.

I hope they can keep him too, even if just to avoid the question mark. Still though, journeyman player who has a career year at age 29 doesn't always translate to sustained success so I won't flip a lid if he gets paid too handsomely for their liking and walks. But our cap situation is so friendly right now and run stuffing DT is such a relatively low cost position that I'm not sure I'd open up the hole on defense based on what I expect the numbers to be.

Tonga certainly has exceeded expectations.
I think he has been used perfectly, managed snap counts, stays fresh.
I am obviously in the minority, but don't love him playing offense. if Westover is not cutting it, replace him.
I think Tonga likes and the staff likes him, but perhaps what might hurt Tonga is how well Durden and Farmer have been playing, and that B-More and Williams have been paid

3 years-$18m might do it for him? Guarantee $12m
I would do that
