Tonga reminds me of Danny Shelton, but he might actually be better. He’s one of the reasons why we have a top run defense.
A 3 - 4 begins and ends with its NT.

I know we talk about Drake Maye and Johnathon Taylor, but I think Matthew Stafford has to be spoken about as a front runner as well. 25 TD passes and only 2 INTs, has the Rams at 7-3.
Him snd Maye are top two in Vegas odds. Some books have Maye #1, some Stafford.
After today's game Stafford probably jumps ahead on most books.

Henry is a favorite of Mayes when he needs a big play, he needs to stick around.
Henry is the security blanket. But man would I love an explosive TE to go along with him. Ty Warren is having a great rookie season with the Colts. Colston Loveland is coming on with the Bears. Warren was my favorite in the 2025 draft. Just an explosive weapon. I’d love to select a pass catching TE in 2026 in the early rounds.

I don't know - they have several naps each game. And they ALWAYS start the game on a nap too. I'm sick of that. It's like they think there's a superstitious purpose to it at this point. Like they think they're Ali who just wants to take some head shots in the 1st round because it's worked in the past.
Rope a dope defense?

Anyone else still concerned about Kyle Williams? Granted, his TD was spectacular, but there wasn't much separation and required a perfect Maye pass. And then, he disappeared for the rest of the game.

Nope.
Wasn't before today and certainly not after today.
He's young and 5th option at best.
His time will come.

That’s why, for YEARS I wanted the Pats to draft EXPLOSIVE offensive weapons. Nobody was afraid of the Pat’s weapons. Now the team has an explosive RB, and they have to pay attention when Williams is on the field too. If they could add back Boutte, and have Boutte & Williams on the field at the same time, then you have players to worry about.
If we suddenly have two speedy guys like Williams, and especially Henderson emerge, particularly late in the season, that is going to give DCs a whole other area to add to their game plans for when they play the Pats.

There could now be a whole new aspect of planning how to stop the Pats, because what worked before won’t work now.

Funny you mention Stanley Morgan.

Because I was thinking Drake Maye reminds me a lot of young Steve Grogan (a much more accurate passer, obviously)

If Maye has 1/4 of his toughness and leadership abilities we are lucky beyond measure. Grogan was the man other men aspired to be, Chuck Norris wished he was as tough as Steve Grogan

In all honesty I really do understand the frustration of the GDT fans. I play golf, and like them I shoot 62 or better every time out. I played over 60 rounds this year and didn't hit one bad shot, and I made every putt, no matter how long it was. If only the Patriots players could demonstrate the perfect focus and performance I put out every time they would be so much better. We are fortunate, most teams don't have fans like us, if they did they wouldn't ever make a mistake either.
62? I birdie every hole.

The comp for me is really Aaron Rodgers. He throws the ball effortlessly.

I mean his success rate is one out of whatever so yeah but that 1 was something special. Start repeating it.

I was talking about Grogan's leadership and toughness. Fraudgers was sidelined an entire season by an Achilles injury. Grogan once tore clean through his Achilles, he took a time out to tie the pieces together right there on the field and didn't miss a down

Nope. He’s raw, he’ll take a year or two to develop. And for the first time I believe in the staff and locker room leadership to make it happen.

Nate Burleson with one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

At 3:40 he talks about how Mike Vrabel should tell the team how good they are, and that the East belongs to them. Bill Cowher, you know the one football guy on this panel who actually won something in his life, argues the exact opposite. You rightly don't want to start believing your own press clippings. You take it one game at a time. Like Ernie Adams says, a championship football team has to be like a race horse, just have those blinders on.

You can tell Burleson never won anything in his life.

I see a lot of Rodgers in Maye, also reminds me of Andrew Luck, as far as body type and play, though I think Maye has a better/stronger arm.

Projected by who? Whoever you name was wrong. That doesn’t mean the team is worse it means the “projectors” got it wrong.

They are not “playing with house money” that is a completely ignorant way to look at professional athletes playing professional sports. Players show up expecting to win. They don’t analyze what people think and decide to accept a level of failure as acceptable and then count moral victories.
Projected by Vegas, Pats over/under was 8.5 wins.

They did have the Patriots favored in 11 games though going into the season.

Not at all. As I have said many times Vrabel believes in developing players, that's how he became the player he was. He started out as a special teamer, became a part time linebacker, signed with the Patriots and continued to develop into a really good player, and ended up in their Hall of Fame. He drafted these guys to develop them, and he's going to bring them along at a pace they can handle, unless injuries force them into the deep end early. Vrabel believes in these guys and has the patience to try and develop them into really productive players, so if they do the work they will create roles for themselves that will turn them into productive players for them long term. The problem is the fans who have no patience, and demand immediate production and results, and won't tolerate anything else, but in Vrabel the Patriots have a coach who truly doesn't give a **** what those fans think or want, he's going to bring them along his way, and if some don't like that then it's tough **** for them. Kyle Williams is a really talented but raw prospect, and he's never had to digest an offensive system like the one MacDaniels is running, so it's going to take some time for him to turn into the player they want him to be, but he's got plenty of time to do that as he's not going anywhere for quite a while. And once he really gets it down he's going to be a really good player for them.
