Today our PATRIOTS show that they are not pretenders, but contenders. Let's go!
IMO they already showed this.. and have showed it for the past 6 weeks.. the eagles are the defending champions not the bucs.. the way this game is being treated is like the bucs are the champs.. it would have more meaning to beat the Bills again and Ravens in a few weeks.. as they are AFC common opponents.

Nationally televised.

Allen was the best QB NE has faced this season and Mayfield is the 2nd best.
I'm getting healthy too...

That game is down the road.

Mayfield is a much better passer than Lamar.
Let's not kid ourselves here.. Mayfield is a QB who's been on 4 different teams.. and found a home in TB. Lamar was a former wr in college who essentially learned the position of QB at Louisville.. all he's been since he came into the league is something Mayfield has never been a 2x league MVP... taking nothing away from baker.. but.... Lamar still keeps DCs up at night.

Incredible, exhaustively researched analysis! Amazing. Simply amazing.

It's easy really.......Drake stays upright, Pats win.

Hmm, not so sure about that.
Lamar has turned into a good passer, much much better is a stretch at best.
Baker has better weapons for sure.

And they still won't, because Rachaad White isn't very good.
You know that guarantees it will happen today, right?

And that could be fine. Let the RB get his (within reason, not Priest Holmes-like), take away the TEs, and the game should go our way.

Bucs are worse off with their 3 that are out (Irving, Godwin, Reddick) than Pats with (Rham, Boutte, Elliss)

Yes, Boutte is a huge piece of the pass game, and Williams is not ready to help. But I think the Pats are more versatile - based on newness of system and already built on a diverse offense each week where they can feature the other guys. I look for Henderson & Hollins to be featured in the pass game due to defense keying on Diggs & Henry. And I really hope they try Williams a couple deep shots.

.Mayfield didn't settle in a consistent passer until he got to TB.. he had one foot out the league essentially traded from Cleveland then bounced around.

He matured his game in TB and made a home there. However he doesn't make. DC lose sleep.. he's a pocket passer that can make plays with his feet when needed. Lamar is a totally different beast.. ultra athletic duel threat QB that throws guys open.. has one of the best deep balls in the NFL. Not to mention a 2 time league MVP..

One is HOF bound and as much respect as we have for BM's abilities, he's not a HOFer and chances are good he'll never come close.

Well said there Ernie. No matter what some may try to say to minimize Lamar he is a phenomenal player.. I also believe aside from flowers his WRs are underwhelming. Bateman must be one of the biggest teases in the NFL. The balls I've seen Lamar give him.. he drops.

I expect McDaniels to be very aggressive with the playcalling: I me run up the score kind of aggressive. IF KW's is still struggling to get going: I expect us to see a lot of Pop Douglas. IF we win this week's game I think we have a 90% chance of getting the First seed: barring key injuries of course.
I was going through the remaining games for all the playoff teams and it's very possible that there'll be 5 or 6 AFC teams that will all finish at 12-5. The Pats could make it to 13-4 with a win against TB, Buf or Bal. I doubt they lose to Cincy, Mia, NYJ or NYG.

Denver's in the driver's seat if they can win one of their two vs KC. Then they'd only need to avoid losing two out of @Was, @LV, GB, Jac and the Bolts.

The Indiots also have a decent chance to be better than 12-5 if they can avoid losing two of their away games at KC, Sea, Jac and Hou, while only losing one of their home games, Atl, Hou, SF and Jac.

Buffalo has a tougher road with nine games remaining, including TB, @Pit, @NE and Philly, with @Mia, @Hou, Cin, @Cle and NYJ.

LC at 6-3 could only afford to lose two out of Pit, @Jac, LV, Phi, @KC, @Dal, Hou and @Den to get to 12-5.

Pitt at 5-3 is in the same kind of place as LC but with 9 games to play. They have Bal twice, Buf and @Det.

The 5-3 Jags also have 9 games remaining with the toughest being a home and away with Indy, LC and Denver.

Then there's KC, who actually could run the tableif they can get by Ind and Den at home and a road game vs Denver after an extra week's rest.

And incredibly, the Ratbirds at 3-5 could run the table if they get by Pit and NE at home and GB and Pit on the road. A real possibility
