10 wins gets you in this season.
10 is likely, but much depends on tie-breakers.

9 teams are 50% or better to make the AFC playoffs.

TWO WON'T MAKE IT
NE
BUF
KC
DEN
LAC
IND
JAX
PIT
BAL
all seem possible

Why don't you guys compromise on, "he had a bad game... for HIM". then you can note all the mistakes and the lack of his usual deep ball accuracy, but acknowledge his 260yds and 66% completion rate is a good day of NFL passing production by anyone's reckoning and we can all be friends.
Hey Ken what is it you always preach about winning football games? Turnovers are a killer right? Bottom line is Maye was the primary reason the pats were 0-2 in the turnover department yesterday. Now we won anyway because of all those good things you bring up. I'm not killing the kid saying he needs to be benched or taken behind the woodshed this week in practice. I'm just acknowledging the reality he had a bad game. It happens. The bigger deal to me is how he responds to it and the last pass to ice the game indicates he'll be alright and the coaching staff has complete faith in him. For me any QB that has more then 1 turnover had a bad game regardless of the rest of the stats. Extreme example but Winston in Tampa Bay used to have games like 450 yards 5 TDs 2 INTs and a fumble. Is that a good game?

you mean power rankings doesnt matter?

cue herm edwards… plus didnt they have all their timeouts?
No "power rankings" do not matter.. they are merely a subjective view of sports scribes, all that matters are wins and losses..

Sure, Vrabel should get us an upgrade to Ponder or Jennings if he can at a reasonable price.

Are you suggesting that this is a HIGH priority for Vrabel?

Perhaps he has not made calls regarding RB, FB, TE, WR, OG, DE, CB, NB and S.
It's a need. You'd like to have a good 3 man rotation of edge rushers as it allows guys to stay fresher for the 4th quarter. A guy like Ponder who's had a great camp.. he's not making an impact right now. This is where Keon white was so disappointing. He was expected to be able to have an impact at the edges. Ponder of course is a rookie and guys take time to catch on. However with that being said like BB always used to say by mid-season guys aren't so much rookies anymore.. OTAs, mini camp, training camp and you've been through 9 NFL games.

In MOST YEARS; no Div gets 3 teams in.
If it happened this year; it would be an AFCW taking 2d slot from AFCS/Jax; not AFCE.
NFCN is so weak; I just dont see more than the Div winner getting in.

So I rework your list like this (with no particular seeding reflected).....
1-2
NE
BUF
3-4
DENDEN [Original Post in black font ???]
KC / LAC
5-6
IND
JAX
7
PIT / BAL

DEN didn't make the 1985 playoffs at 11-5
NE didn't make the 2008 playoffs at 11-5
NE and Denver would have both made it in the current format.
They added 2 additional playoff teams in 1990 and 2 more in 2020 so rather irrelevant what happened when less teams made the playoffs.

Awesome pic of Diggs scoring. He may have lost a step as he has aged and recovering from injury. But his route running, ball skills and understanding of attacking defenses is just on another level. We need to get him the ball as much as possible, good things happen with the ball in his hands.

I think folks recognized that he is special. Not sure people are critical just to be negative. It appears they are pointing out things that can make him unstoppable, durable and safer.
not sure why I was quoted here.... I was just talking about adding a deep threat in case Boute is out.

Obviously.. Those were 16 game seasons... teams with 7 wins were getting in back then... I remember the Seahawks got in the playoffs at 7-9 one year...

2025 KC reminds me of the 1996-1999 Cowboys. You can tell they are a shell of themselves and teams are starting to surpass them. KC front office is doing a terrible job replacing players on offense.

To me, their pass catchers are more than adequate.
They certainly could upgrade at RB, and Oline continues to be an issue.
Maybe once the HOFer Simmons gets back to playing that will change

Correct, they were 16 game seasons which makes not getting in with 11 wins even wilder!
Correct. I think the Hawks were the division leader is why they got in.. I remember for us in 08.. didn't it come down to Miami and jets playing in order for us to get in?

I believe it was Green Bay needed to beat the Jets and they didn't. But tbh I didn't bother to look it up to verify, so I could be wrong.

IMO thier offense looks predictable.. father time has caught up to kelece.. as great as Mahomes is and has been.. he doesn't seem to " Wow' you anymore..

It's pretty obvious Buffalo wanted that game more, And it's a tough enough task to beat Buffalo in Buffalo as is. KC has an uphill battle to win thier own division.

Ok. I remember watching the Miami/jets game.. and the talk was something about if Miami lost we would have got in or something to the effect.

Green bay was in 2002, but they laid down for the jets because they didn’t need the win

In 2008 we needed jets to beat Miami but the nfl ****ed us over with the scheduling of those week 17 games and the early results eliminated the jets from contention so they had nothing to play for and it showed.

Both times favre was the qb of the team we needed to win
