We just win the 6th in a row and have the best record in the NFL and have won because the QB has carried the team in his back and whatnot choose to talk about post game is to criticize the qb.

He was trying to avoid the rusher. He has done that many times this year. Let’s subtract all the plays he made by doing that, and we are worse off.
I just don’t get the thinking that everything that goes wrong is something you have to cry about. The defender punched the ball out. It happens. Without Maye, with an average qb, we lose that game. That is the antithesis of “he had a bad game”.
And I have reached my Andy respond to limit. He can avoid the rusher with two hands on the ball. It was a point of emphasis he was coached on. He had a bad game. He will learn from it and get even better. Moving on.

Is there any chance Judon could help?

He would be dirt cheap, and “coming home” might be enough to motivate him for the stretch run.

The acquisition would need to be conditional that Judon refrains from recruiting during the off season.

He moved to avoid the pass rusher and it got punched out. Doing the right thing didn’t always have the best result.
Amazing to me that we lucked into an incredible QB that is carrying his team on his back to the best record in the NFL and “fans” can’t wait take any opportunity to tear him down. We are the Jets of fan bases.
Looked to me like Maye was trying to tuck the ball away but was too late and the defender punched the ball out.

Sorry you are scared to debate me but that’s a you problem.
Keep celebrating our success by focusing on knocking the guy responsible for it.
We lose without Maye. That’s not a bad game.

Tampa is minus thier best players in Godwin and Evans. Even is Godwin does play he's not the same player.

London was held in check for most of the game. His TDs were on 5ft Marcus and 20M a year CB Davis.

The 50/50 ball gonzo had great coverage London was fortunate to come down with it.

I will continue to say this. The zone coverages aren't helping the secondary. It reminds me of the Patricia defenses.

Gonzo, Surtain the 2nd, and Stingley Jr. Are the 3 best man CBs in the game.

They didn't become all pros for thier zone coverage abilities.

The difference here between the 2021 season with the post bye week meltdown is the QB and coaching won't allow for that to happen.
London had 9 catches for 118 yards averaging 13 yards a catch with 3 TD’s, not sure he was held in check.

He got sacked 34 times last year, and he has the same number so far this year, on pace for 64, which would be 6th all time. That stuff adds up. Also, Maye, child, please slide.
This is the one issue with Drake. He never takes the check down. He takes the term I do not want to be a check down Charlie a little too literally. The best QB's, and one that we saw here for many years, know that you need to do this to avoid sacks and bad plays. I am literally watching a play in the second quarter with 11:02 left and he takes a sack when he has Jennings wide open for a simple check down to his left. He also has Diggs right in front of him but he is only five yards deep. It almost seems like he refuses to throw these short passes. Now mind you it was first and ten so it wasn't like he could not have taken the check down. It is the one thing he really needs to clean up.

For all the amazing deep balls, laser throws and scrambles, I personally think the 3rd and 5 play to ice the game was the moment even some Pink Hats probably thought, yep, this is the guy. The booth was calling for a run and I'm sure plenty of fans were too. Nope, the coaching staff trusted their man, went for the win and he pulled it off. Big, big moment for Drake and the Pats.
Not possible to agree with this enough. Also, similar message in the series before the half. Drakes our guy and we trust him. And that message is just as much for the team as making the right decision.

Douglas has settled in as a part-time WR running deeper routes. Last 5 games:

17 targets
13 receptions
249 yards
2 TDs

He's also PFF's highest graded WR in that span & has a 156.3 passer rating when targeted right behind Boutte's 158.3 perfect rating. The 2023 draft is paying off for them on offense.

He had 40 yards a busted play 50/50 ball that gonzo should have had.. he had 3 TDs 2 on Marcus who's a mismatch and another on 20M dollar man Davis...

When Gonzo was in man coverage the times Kurh remembered to call man... he blanketed London. Look Drake London made his plays he's a great player.. he took advantage of the soft zones..

Are you kidding?

London was fantastic.

Warrior.

the London vs. Jones matchup was a failure of Kuhr / DB coach to recognize and make adjustment. Or even prepare to not have that coverage - especially in the red zone. They should have kept Gonzo on him the whole game despite coverage call.

I'm sure they'll fix that going forward. Thankfully we don't face Evans. But I'd love to see Gonzo on Egbuka all day.

I have said and will say again... I am iffy on if i even want the bye this year.

If you agree like most people the Patriots are very unlikely to win it all this year or even make the big game, you face 2 very interesting possibilities.

Getting bye.

Pros
Ups the possibility of an AFFCG birth.... outside chance of a super bowl appearance (hopefully not blown out). Both of these would go a long way to gaining this group confidence going into next year and cementing their aim.

Cons
The possibility getting bumps the first game goes up. While getting the bye be great, something about this could be discouraging and lead to the belief they really were only their due to their schedule and even with a bye and HFA they are not ready for prime time.

Not getting the bye (but winning the division)

Cons
The likelihood of being on a really big stage game like the AFCCG goes down a lot. SB appearance is all but out of the window.

Pros
The ability to win a playoff game goes up as you likely play a weaker opponent. So you are more likely to have some kind of trophy to put on the wall and put on for next year. Perhaps you even win 2. It drastically ups the odds of that happening. Even if you get blown out in the AFFCG if you do it after 2 playoff wins it is hard to look at that as a failure. You will be able to know you earned your place into that spot and will have gained a lot of experience and have a team that feels it is on the right track and ready to take the final step next year.

So... i look at these options and ask myself really... what is best for this team if i assume winning the bowl or even making it is incredibly low no matter which option i get. At least i think it is an interesting question. Personally, i'd still want the bye.. but i see the logic is not being at all unhappy if you get the 2nd seed.
This is the longest winded and maybe strangest pathway ever to say "#1 seed best, #2 seed still good"

Yesterday I saw a team that struggled in certain aspects of the game and were in a dogfight throughout the game and still were able to hang in there and make enough plays to win the game, before the game sealing drive inside the stadium, at least the people in my section were confident they would pick up the first down. They didn’t play a clean game, made mistakes and still won the game, I’m thrilled with the win and it’s time to start preparing for the Bucs.

I made a point yesterday to watch the Pats pass rush, it didn’t look good, however I agree with some here that yes we could benefit from adding a pass rusher but let’s not give up to much to do so. Also the run defense week in and week out is incredible.
