2026 Draft: WR

Mateer a gunslinger. Not my kind of QB, but someone will overdraft based on the highlight reel.

T D Concepcion??

Seriously Manx, how do you think KC Concepcion in round 2 stacks up vs. Makai Lemon in round 1?

Hmmm.

Lemon is a higher volume receiver and is better at getting open, especially in zone. He's a go to receiver. Concepcion looks to be faster. They both have excellent quickness. They are equally good at route running and both have success as returners although Lemon's is as a kick returner which probably doesn't happen in the NFL. Concepcion is a punt returner. Lemon's volume of receptions and reliability in the passing game give him the edge for me.

Two higher end comps put it into perspective. Lemon is a Amon Ra St Brown, Puka Nacua, Emekha Egbuka type receiver at his max. Concepcion has been compared to Percy Harvin, albeit not as big or strong. Pick your poison.

I really like them both.

One final thought. Lemon has shown he is outstanding in competitive catches but is a little bit limited by his frame. Concepcion's ability to high point the ball fully extended and catch with his hands is truly outstanding.

I’ve started watching more A&M games this year. The kid is impressive.

Absolutely. He's done something very impressive every time I've watched him.
As long as A&M keeps winning, his stock will rise, at least the hype train will pump him up.

This WR draft class reminds me of 2019 in terms of quality of receiver. That was the class of AJ Bown, Terry McLaurin, DK Metcalf, Deebo Samuel and he who shan't be named (damn BB for messing that one up!)

I would so love to be drafting a WR but with all our other needs I just don't see it happening. We already have a full WR room for next year with all the same receivers likely to come back and it's not as though we're short of young developmental receivers with Boutte, Williams and Chism. Okay, Boutte can't really be classified as developmental but he is young.

Drafting a receiver would mean having to get rid of one of Diggs, Chism or Hollins. Or not extending Boutte/Pop. Perhaps Pop. Perhaps Hollins although I think the coaching staff really like him.

I've given up hope of drafting a WR.

True, but this is such a strong class, there's not far for him to go. He's already considered a borderline first rounder.

He could move up into solid R1 status with a solid late season and bowl game/playoff run.

Concepcion seems to be a bit more disciplined as a receiver.

WR not my priority, but Bell, Concepcion and CJ Daniels are favorites of mine.

Tyson Tate and Lemon all outstanding, but will be off the board, and too rich for my blood.
