Says Drake has some open receivers but chooses to run after the first read in some situations. Seems valid.
You're ****ing weird dude. Just playing, when I seperated my right shoulder I had to learn to do it with my left. Its literally a great skill to have.Totally agree with cherry picking of stats. Like if I played in the NFL and threw a touch down I would then hold the record as the only guy who is right handed but wipes his ass with his left.
I didnt realize or think about it until being an adult and one day I was like why am I using my left hand. I dont get it, I do everything right handed but that. I blame my mom for incorrect trainingYou're ****ing weird dude. Just playing, when I seperated my right shoulder I had to learn to do it with my left. Its literally a great skill to have.
I saw Josh Dobbs taking game snaps at QB against the Titans. After the beating he took last year you blame him for popping smoke when **** starts to go sideways? Also from Josh's mouth in preseason they want him to take the first option that nets positive yardage and not be greedy. So yeah there are plays that someone else is open for a bigger gain but I dont think thats how he is being coached. I agree with time he will see more of the field, the game slows down, more confidence in the people around him. But for now the kid plays lights out and I dont see nothing to complain about.
He is more or less in total control of the OffenseHe's already got that here, since the Raiders are paying him $10M/year through 2027, minus whatever we pay him.
To me it all comes down to ego. If his ego insists on him being a HC, then he might go. If it doesn't, I think he'll stay here, watch his children and his bank balance grow and be happy as one of the best OCs in the NFL with one of the best QBs in the NFL. Seems like a pretty satisfying life for him, and for his family.
Also I would add that being HC didn't turn out well for him twice (three times if we count that Colts thing) and that being HC comes with a lot more pressure. He perhaps might not feel confident that he'll be very good at it if given a third chance, since that's what the data suggests. However, the ego doesn't look much at data...
When I had bicep surgery on my right armYou're ****ing weird dude. Just playing, when I seperated my right shoulder I had to learn to do it with my left. Its literally a great skill to have.
I’ve been thinking those two are ambidextrASSWhen I had bicep surgery on my right arm
I became ambidicktrous
That my friend is a skill
The problem is more that he isn't sliding enough.Seeing the field and making those throws comes with experience. But you would rather see him miss throws, go 20/33 instead of 29/33 for instance, vs seeing him in a blue tent and a backup QB taking snaps.
It's up to the QB coach and McDaniels to get him away from sliding too much.
Given that choice I certainly would prefer seeing missed throws rather than a missing QB.Seeing the field and making those throws comes with experience. But you would rather see him miss throws, go 20/33 instead of 29/33 for instance, vs seeing him in a blue tent and a backup QB taking snaps.

Just a guess, I obviously have no idea what they are teaching Maye, but it seems to me one of the main issues in the week 1 loss was Maye wasn't confident in what he was seeing. Throws were late, and he looked slow when he did run. People were talking about having to draft the next guy. Go to the film this week, he may not make the correct decision every time but he is much better at I'm doing XYZ and putting 100% into that. That says to me, the coaches are telling him some version of I'll take a quick decisive 5 yards over waiting for the 30 yard play to open up. If the decisive thing to do is run I'm ok with that for now as he and the rest of the offense continue to gel. Maye is only 23 and playing impressive winning football. I'll take it assuming he continues to put in the work and where he could be in 2-3 years when he knows when to let it rip versus take off running. It will come in time and reps. One thing I think is noteworthy about JT’s analysis is how often he points out multiple open receivers. He shows completions where there was another open receiver, sometimes for a better play result. He shows plays the he calls “one and run” where if the first read isn’t there Drake runs even though there is another receiver open, and on some of those runs he points out there were more than one open receiver.
Reason I mention this is that it makes me think those who want us to trade for a WR upgrade (I’m looking at you PF2, and your twin 2 too) should be prepared for the possibility that if we did make such a trade we might not see the desired results until we get better QB play instead of Drake’s present one and run habit.
Another thing about this is that it helps inflate Drake’s eye popping completion percentages if he cuts and runs any time there’s any doubt in his mind about the certainty of a completion. It’s going to reduce turnover worthy throws and hospital balls, but those risks are reduced at the risk that he will have his head slammed against the ground and miss some time. He narrowly dodged a bullet when he only missed a handful of plays against the Titans. Next time he may not be so lucky. Staying in the pocket and not being so quick to use his legs would be an improvement in his game, as JT clearly explains.
As per warner , he left a lot of easy short throws he didnt take
