Honestly the only team I’ve seen this year that truly looks elite is Tampa Bay. Both conferences are wide open. Pats have as good a shot as anyone.

Does Tampa Bat really look elite to you? Their first 4 wins I think were all 4th quarter comebacks.
That has value but also doesn’t scream elite if you’re always trailing late,

Never was an automatic win.

Some things in the Patriots favor though:

1) The game is here, Atlanta is terrible outside of the dome.
2) Atlanta's strengths on offense are also our strengths on defense. Do a good enough job on Robinson, and your big concern is if Kyle Pitts is going to decide to play or not.

We Need to get that Home Field Advantage Back. We Need a factor RB for that: we have to sure up that weakness.

I said before with so many Teams going South so fast already. The AFC is wide open a lot of pretender Teams. Daniel Jones Colts - Lawrence Jaguars - Herbert Chargers and Rodgers Steelers. Drake Maye is really shaking in his Patriots boots about facing any of those Teams...Not!

With all the talk about everyone wanting Drake Maye to be the next Josh Allen there's a scene in the TV show Billions starring the incomparable Damian Lewis it makes me think of.

"Your Father... while he was a killer gin player at 5 cents a point when the partners upped the stakes to a dollar they mopped the ****ing floor with him because he was a piker who couldn't handle the pressure when the stakes were high."

Josh Allen is that man's Father.

I don't want Drake Maye to be the next Josh Allen. I want him to be the first Drake Maye.

That’ll be an interesting weekend. I’ve been wondering if the Pats might get flexed into more primetime games as they’re getting hot now. Just looked to see if the Falcons game might be attractive candidate to be flexed. The 4pm CBS game is KC at Buffalo so that’ll probably stick. But could be another nail in the Bills’ coffin.

It never did. The Patriots are not in a position in 2025 to look at any team like an automatic win. But it helps that game is at home. Penix vs Maye... I always like games showcasing two young QB's.

They're very injured but still squeaking out wins every week. The reason I credit them is because most of the injuries are ones where the players will get back within a few weeks. So, they are squeaking out these wins with their B or C squad, and soon they'll get most of their A squad back, at which point they'll be very hard to beat.

Of course, if the injuries just continue to pile up then that won't really happen.
