I'm really struggling to see how he's not the complete X receiver. Perhaps needs a bit more bulk and more infield plays but other than that, he looks to have everything.

Agreed. Hopefully K Williams will be a get open guy. Diggs will be around a few more years.Diggs still looks amazing, sometimes ACL and Tommy John surgery helps.

I can see the argument for not taking him and I probably won't mock him but if they do, I'll be very happy because he's great.

I would hate it. It would hurt. My life might dissolve into shambles. Probably lose my GF. But we have to go with BPA for the long-term health of the franchise. I am a long-term guy, willing to endure and sacrifice in the short-term. The short-term can be more stimulating, but the long-term is more satisfying.
