The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

I put on the table:

He's the GOAT coach who also pushed Brady out the door with no succession plan, put the corpse of Cam Newton onto the field for a season, failed to develop the QB who is now 2-0 for the 49ers, trotted out a coaching staff consisting of MP, JJ and his sons which is a borderline treasonous act, then proceeded to undermine the guy who he developed as a player and a coach to be his successor because he wanted his own son to have the job.

Your retort:

A couple of tough years and he still managed a playoff appearance.

That's the leg you want to stand on?

Here's how that playoff appearance went.

In New England's first playoff game since the departure of quarterback Tom Brady, they were unable to stop the Bills and quarterback Josh Allen defensively, with the Bills being the first team in NFL history to never punt, kick a field goal or turn the ball over on any of their drives (every Buffalo offensive possession ended in a touchdown or was the end of the game).[71] It was the New England Patriots' worst playoff loss since Super Bowl XX.

That was all Mac Jones’s fault according to Wussy. Jonathan Kraft drafted him and forced Bill to use him that season. The defense saw him throw a pick and at that moment they just gave up the rest of the night. Lol. Poor Bill was just a victim and couldn’t do anything about it. Loool. That’s what he really said. Loool.

Yup. Cult indoctrination really does weird things to the brain.

From the Athletic:

At North Carolina, six-time Super Bowl winner Bill Belichick appears to have simply assembled a poor roster.

“What I think they miscalculated is with the way they were taking (players) in the portal and paying dudes,” said one Group of 5 head coach, granted anonymity to discuss his encounters with the Tar Heels in the offseason player acquisition cycle. “It made me wonder, did they actually understand the landscape they were in? Did they understand that they’re in the ACC, not like Conference USA or the Sun Belt? Like, we got beat by North Carolina on a bunch of kids. I was like, why the f— is North Carolina beating us on kids? When I keep running up against the same P4s over and over again in recruiting, I’m like, all right, they’re gonna suck.”

Bill built the roster at UNC about as well as he built this one here.

But 33rd NFL team or something.

Yup. Bill lost his fastball a while ago. Happens to everyone eventually. But he’s now the guy hanging on way past his expiration date. At some point surrounding himself with family and yes men became more important then top notch coaches and staff.

This is both a fair and unfair criticism.

I think BB swapped out something like 70 guys, obviously with a lot of transfers and some recruits.

This is "his" team but it's a given that he's going to need a few years to cull through the younger transfers and build on his recruits.

If he were able to have a truly "successful" season this year, that should be impressive to all and will show that he took a lot of castoffs from other programs and turned them into a strong team.

The good news is, almost in spite of himself, he sounds like he's going to let Max Johnson finally get a start - which could turn his whole season around and hopefully give Max a chance to showcase himself for the draft.

While many fans would rather see them stick with the Sophmore rather than the 24 year old 6th year senior, Johnson has the experience and leadership the team needs - and offers a great comeback story

Corky the Diva was lucky to win last night, let's face it. Dude sucks too.

I mean, could there have been any Worse HC-QB arrangements than that one? The crotchety, over-the-hill pervert who gave his QB two Unqualified grifters as his coaches; and the dainty, noodle-armed, leadership-lacking diva who, if the NFL were Madden, would be an All-Pro...
