If ignoring dollars and cents of all involved with the game, some sort of promotion style format like the premier league would be interesting. Could cut it in half or whatever may be, add a clearer regional element within it when grouping teams in “conferences” to make promotions and demotions make sense.I know they love teams having 10-2 or 11-1 or whatever records... but i really wish they cut division 1 FBS in half so only the top 60ish teams play each other. There are just too many noncompetitive games. At least don't let them beat up on bottom half D1 like they can now.
But alas, because of conference allegiance and looking down the money pipeline of all the stakeholders involved, would never happen. Competitive equity will never be the main goal over dollars for college football. Also, the NCAA organization in itself is a whipping post.
