And the ankle could cost him some time at some point. That said I'd much rather stick with this 5 as long as possible. That's great and all but I think corpse Moses is the weak link. I wouldn't mind seeing the younger Marcus Bryant or Caedan Wallace get another shot there again. I for one rather the ongoing Youth movement along the OL: we have spent a boat load of Draft capital there.
If there's a player good enough I'd go guard or center in the first just to try and complete this turnaround and make our OL a real strength. I know good guards and centers can be found in later rounds but if we could get a player with the potential of Mankins then don't hesitate.Yup, 100% correct. Maybe even draft a guy, there's some decent guards coming out this year.
It's a rebuild, not a complete team, yet, and some things just won't be fixed this year. You can't do it all in one offseason. But if you have a QB (or think you do), that's a huge, huge piece. The Jets have been searching for one for 20 years. They Bears have been for what, 60 years?
Just because no one wanted to sign here is no excuse to sign Tubogoo for 20 million/yr.Gotta keep in mind that off-season they couldn't convince any good players to take their money over other teams' money. And unlike some previous years, every team had money thanks to the huge yearly cap bumps post-covid. NE was a dumpster fire with no QB and no coach, nobody wanted to come as long as they could get paid elsewhere.
So with the CBA forcing the Pats to spend a chunk of that money anyway, they had to throw it at someone. Hence the Onwenu and Dugger deals, among others.
Yeah I think he plays through some injuries. Tough dude. Good roll model.I think he was advertised as a tough player when we signed him. Beast.
Wednesday marked the first time in 51 days that Gonzalez practiced since suffering a hamstring injury. It’s unknown if he’ll be able to play or how much he will play this weekend when the Patriots take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“It is going to help our team and our defense for sure,” cornerback Carlton Davis said. “It could make my job easier because we’re going to be getting off the field more and celebrate more when he makes plays. It should be fun. I’m excited for it.”
“One side of the field can be shutdown at any moment,” Hawkins added. “He makes plays (and has) very, very sticky coverage. A natural, freak athlete, cover, good technique, good ball skills.”

Seems like it but I hope they wait a couple weeks.Might be reading to much into it but his teammates seem to think he's a full go.
Yeah, this was on the game clinching sack by Williams but he got up and seemed OK, but the camera cut away rather fast. He's posted in Instagram and X since then so assume nothing happened other than he was slow to get up..The play he got hit in the balls was earlier in the game so I assume this was a second potential thing to monitor?
There is a big difference between the 2 teams. So are some of ours...last week it was Maye's replacement, now it's Spillane's and Gonzalez'. PatsFans is not immune.
