Other than a few very good teams and a few very bad teams, there's a whole lot of middling teams. We're one of those. But it remains to be seen where in the order of middling teams we are.

Things are lining up for the Pats though.

Carolina just put their starting Center and a starting Guard on IR with the NE pass rush getting better. Burrow is out 3 months and could be back in time for the Pats game, but he would be rusty. We will see what else happens in the Pats favor.

Game # 10 Tampa just lost their best pass rusher Calija Kancey for the season.

If we can have that continuity all year and given how the 6 have played so far I think we'll all be pleasantly surprised with where we land come seasons end.

Hopefully Moses ankle can heal up for Sunday.

Wallace or Bryant should be able to play Tackle in pinch. Both were Drafted to play Tackle.

Maye's next game is even more important than this last one imo. Yes he likely had his best game so far with the team and won, which is something he needs to get in the habit of doing more. But now he needs to follow it up with another good game. That consistency is the key to taking the next step for him.

He doesn't need to be as good. But he needs to be good and win back to back games. DtRt stringing quality starts together.

Steelers could be hot or cold but certainly a winnable game if we clean up the penalties a bit and get Gonzo back.

The hallmark of a young, new team (staff and players). That's 's the aspect that most gloss over -- inconsistency. It's been evident for the Patriots especially in the units where repetition and consistency are paramount to success - OL, secondary, LBs. The outlier has been the DL which has also been inconsistent, but less so.

Rather than "individual X sucks - start looking toward the draft" (a common -- and ridiculous -- refrain - week one Maye, now week two Spillane, with honorable mention the guy who hasn't even played yet in Gonzalez) the Pitt game likely comes down to the team that can operate well as those sub-unit packages and make certain key plays. Especially because of that inconsistency by both squads.

This isn't surprising. With preseason games as preparation gone, replaced by talent evaluation and roster building in the extremis that's what you're treated to now in the early weeks -- unit cohesion building and scheme installation. That's what we're watching.

I bet he does, Bentley and Peppers flying around with something to prove, especially Peppers, watch out for any cheap shots, expecting at least one roughing call from Peppers hope the Patriots O line protect the franchise.

This is a game where I would have Gibson, and Henderson in on passing situations, I would also elevate Chism to find the soft spots in coverage, I don’t like the matchup of Ramsey and Porter JR so I wouldn’t throw any 50 50 balls.

Hard fought grind it out game, FGs will be a must not a luxury so ANDY better hit them.

This game will be a brawl for sure and hope we leave with a W and a healthy game on both sides for the players.

Expecting a quick pass game 1,2 balls out, we need Douglas or Chism to get Open and be a factor do not like the deep passes against this team matchup wise. Might be a good game for a reverse and some creative plays to get the run game going.

Don’t care about Pitts last game and defense the last 2 games they always plays us tough. Throw in the Peppers and Bentley factors and this is a downright street/dog fight, old fashioned bar melee.

I'm thinking the opposite: would be a nice game for Kyle Williams to showcase his Speed. Stretch those CB's on clearouts: which should open up the Middle of the Field. They have Ramsey playing in the Slot now Hmmmm: they might have the advantage there.

This would be also be a nice week for Diggs to have a Big game. He can more than hold his own against any of those CB's.

Twin: I'm getting very impatient with Pop: 6 measely yards in two games unacceptable for a NFL WR. IF Pop $h!ts the bed this week again: we have to make some sort of change.

FYI, I notice on the tape Barmore had his leg landed on by a lineman on the last play and got up slowly, assuming no writers commented on him after the game I assume he is fine. I guess will see on the injury report today if anything lingered.
