Is the 2025 defensive coaching Sub-Par ( Williams / Kuhr)

What if the defensive struggles are more related to coaching similar to the Patricia joe judge offense .

They could not find a role for peppers or dugger , the free agents that they signed Spillane and Ellis are spectacularly flopping. Austin has regressed a bit, they released James who had a stellar camp.

Keoin white is totally ineffective . Without gonzo they seem absolutely lost. How can we have dependency on just 1 person.

Barmore and Williams are the best 2 men tandem and hence performing to their billing with landry which has nothing to do with coaching but more to their physical talent .

Chaisson is probably the outlier.

Listening to bedards commentary an stage fact that we did not put our players in beat position to succeed , makes me think if the defense has regressed due to Williams non availability and hence is 2-3 weeks behind schedule from a conditioning and readiness standpoint.

Williams needs to eat a god damn salad and drink a coconut water before every game. Absolutely ludicrous situation that he can’t take health seriously. I’d say he’s 51 going on 81, but that’s an insult to folks living well in their 80s who tend to keep their **** straight, unlike him. Tried to sugar coat this post as much as possible..

Interesting theory but I'm not ready to let the players off the hook like that. Mostly because I think they can do better but also because who likes excuses.

This is interesting. For as much concern of the secondary there has been (some dictated with Gonzalez out) LB has been glaringly the weakest link of the three levels.

Hard to figure out what the heck we have on defense. Line play runs from pretty darn good to wtf. The linebackers look like what you expect to see in the last pre-season game: guys trying hard but just not up to the job. The back end looks to be legit on effort but short on talent. It's hard not to like them, but hard to feel they're really collectively up to the job.They'll either be a bust or a bunch of lovable lugs who play above their actual talent.Trying to figure out which it will be is like one time - don't ask - I had to drive home without my eyeglasses, peering out through my uncorrectedly legally blind eyes, trying to decipher all those blurry shapes.

My question is the quality of the coaching of the secondary and the defensive playcalls.

I think that the front 7 has been very good. The criticism of the ILB's is a criticism of the pass coverage, which is poor. Their run coverage was fine.

So, BOTTOM LINE, are talking about a lack of talent at backup corner and coverage linebacker? Of course, we are. Perhaps the coaching of the pass defsense aspect of the game will improve, or not.

Austin and Marcus should be splitting snaps at slot cb depending on the opposition.
Hawkins should be depth if Dugger is 100%

People think it’s like instant hot chocolate, just pour in hot water and poof, you’re all set.
