And not having a playoff win since 2016!
He is a horrible gameday coach, always has been.
I have no idea how he’s duped everyone. NFL analysts/former players gush over him, I truly don’t understand it.
Seems like a good dude, his pressers are funny and I’m sure he’s a great role model, but I’ve never thought he was good at “coaching”.
I have a couple hardcore Steelers friends, and they loathe him and have been saying he should be fired going back at least 5 years.
Tomlin started losing playoff game after playoff game while Ben was still playing.
After starting his career 5-1 in the playoffs, he's gone 3-10 in playoff games for the last 15 years. Most of that with Roethlisberger, who's a shoe-in for Canton.
And the kicker: During his current 3-10 playoff stretch, the 3 wins have come against QBs Matt Moore, AJ McCarron, and Alex Smith.
I'm not saying Tomlin is a great coach, but he has kept many nutcases in line for their best career production. Antonio Brown and Bell were the heart of those teams competing. Tomlin got the most out of them even though they never won. It's a miracle they went as far as they did. I'm not sure another coach would have handled them so well.
There's no argument Tomlin is not a good game day coach and gets out coached in the big games. But because the Steelers draft great talent over "issues" it's been Tomlins job to keep things smooth. People get fooled because they are are always so talented, but it must really be a task to have been an adult in the room with those teams.
