The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

Starting with the very first pick he made in it...

Should've been 10. That's going on my headstone.
Yup. Clady over the guy who's tacking guys 10+ yards downfield all day long.

According to multiple sources, Belichick became upset when Kraft told him he couldn’t retain Matt Patricia as offensive coordinator following a disastrous 2022 season. Instead, the Patriots hired veteran offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien. If Belichick had his way, Patricia would’ve been retained.

That season, Belichick grew so frustrated with quarterback Mac Jones that he actually stopped talking to the 2021 first-round pick altogether. At the time, a source told MassLive that Jones told people around him that the Patriots stopped coaching him and Belichick refused to talk to him.

In 2023, according to a source, Belichick was also upset when Jerod Mayo signed a contract that named him the coach in waiting. The source said that Belichick refused to talk with Mayo, who was coordinating his defense, that season.

So there you have it Kraft chose Mac and Mayo over Brady and Bill.
More logic from you.

There never was a Mac and Mayo vs Brady and Bill choice.

By the time the Mac and Mayo stuff was happening, Brady was long gone.

What a clown. Kraft wanted to keep Brady. Belichick drove Brady out. Belichick picked Mac Jones, no one else did that. It’s pathetic that you resort to outright lies to try and defend your indefensible positions.

Then he shouldn't have given away the franchise tag. He could have easily chose to keep him for another year or two but it wasn't in the best interest of his wallet.

Once again total ********. That was Belichick’s decision, not Kraft’s. Belichick negotiated all deals, not Kraft. Once again it’s pathetic that you make up lies to defend Belichick. You’re a clown.

Why must you insist on making up your own narrative to fill in the gaps of things that we don't know?

That is crux of the hate and you guys don't even see it. And your filler always seems to put a negative spin or sensational aspect when you guys start filling in unknown gaps and it's created this vacuum where you think you somehow hold all the answers.

Sure whatever you say.

Sure looks like you’re doing what you accused me of doing. Weird.

I'm your Huckleberry

Well said. The excuses for Bill’s faceplant on Monday really are comical. Can’t wait to laugh at more of them. Go Charlotte.

TFA says not only was it the players Bill and Mike's chose to put on the field, but those suggesting he'll do better next year are not looking at the data correctly.

For three hours Monday night, the crew at ESPN made it sound like Belichick had no control over the roster and walked into a gutted program. Smarten up, people.

Belichick and Lombardi nearly turned over a roster that, over the previous four years, was built primarily with the Nos. 26, 31, 11 and 14th-ranked high school recruiting classes, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Belichick’s first high school class was No. 36 in the nation, and he’s currently working on the No. 17 class in the nation. That 2026 class already has 36 commitments, and
the No.17 ranking is based more on quantity than quality.

There isn’t one five-star recruit among the group, and there are 27 three-star commitments. I don’t think I’m breaking news by saying UNC isn’t winning a national title, much less the ACC, with 27 three-star recruits.

If you think the money they spend on the transfer portal will fix things, think again:

Transfer portal players are more of a crapshoot: you’re either unloved or unwanted (for any number of on- and off-field reasons), or you’re trying to make a buck. Neither is an attractive alternative.

But there’s hope for those who have cash on hand, and who can convince the small percentage of impact portal players to believe in what they’re selling.
You just have to, you know, convince them of your product.

A product that, after one week, doesn’t look good at North Carolina.

I'm not following recruitment like this but if I'm reading this correct it seems like you are citing a bunch of freshman and kids still in highschool that have committed to play here next year? I'm not sure what point this is supposed to make as it relates to Mondays loss?

Everyone is wrong but you. All those who think Belichick is the GOAT are Belichick haters. Bill Belichick didn’t drive Tom Brady out of New England Bob Kraft did.

I have never seen anyone more full of **** on this site than you. You have now gone from clown to liar.
