The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

Yes winning 6 SBs as a Patriot should pretty much erase everything.
That’s stupid.

I don’t care if it’s a coach, owner or star player…. and I don’t care how many Super Bowls a guy has…. If he ****s up I'm going to call him out for it. And fact is there’s been no shortage of Belichick ****ing up the past 5 years.

I'd rather like to know the rationale behind Bill's decisions starting in 2017 (Butler decision) through 2019 where he didn't want to address the offense and not re-sign Tom Brady to a very reasonable contract. If the Pats re-signed Tom Brady and averaged 10 wins per season through 2022, I have Bill needing 9 more wins to tie Don Shula. Instead, he could get passed up in 3 seasons by Andy Reid. However, his 6 rings as HC will be harder to match.
And given he decided to move on from Brady, why didn't the "GOAT coach" come up with something better than Jarrett Stidham and Cam Newton?

Ya know, like Lamar Jackson?

He was there for the taking while we were on the clock, but we took "bone on bone" Sony Michel instead.

I think it's pretty fair to say evidence supports the idea that BB had no real plan for the future.

Conjecture says he let his ego get him and his extended entourage get into a battle of egos with Brady and his extended entourage.

Fine, but if he's going to get into a pissing contest with the GOAT QB, it's up to him to come up with something better than Stidham and Newton.

It's the same kind of ego that makes a guy deny one team's NFL scouts from watching a CFB team's practice.

Or benching a corner who took almost all the team's snaps during the season in a Super Bowl for really no good reason at all.

And the noise begins.

I bet Bill's seat is a little warmer than people think.

What realistically can a now age 73 grandpa whose last four seasons included three losing ones culminating in 4-13 bring to UNC besides continued failure after literal banishment from the NFL? Well, nepotism, cronyism, borderline sexual predatory behavior and a total lack of integrity, making UNC the laughingstock of the nation.

I guess they got haters down there too, LOL!

Or maybe he just had him under contract until he was 42 and then thought he could use the franchise tag once or twice or just use it as leverage on the final deal.

It's always some ego thing or something else with you guys.

He knew for over a year he didn’t have the franchise tag

You did it everyone, give it up for Page 230 of the schizo thread!

Personally I thought we'd be lucky to make it to 200 but I under-estimated the ability of the BB cult to block out facts and logic.

We're on to page 300!

No he didn't Brady negotiated that during the summer after the draft. Then when the season was over he made the decision to leave before he ever talked to Kraft or Bill.

So more like 5-7 months and during a time when he could basically do nothing about it.

So he had the rest of the summer, full season, and entire next off season to address QB

That might be what you were discussing but I'm talking about the petty vindictive members who still want to pretend they are fans but just hate. Lots of different discussions going on sometimes it can be tricky following it all.

Nothing “ tricky” about it, you knew what you were saying and are lying about it now. Over and over and over you call people who consider Belichick to be The GOAT “ haters simply because they don’t agree with your belief that he’s the most perfect human being in history.

The Bill cult and the anti Bill cult is the dumbest thing ever it's ok to say Bill was an all time great coach for most of his Patriots reign but starting with the Butler benching he started making loads of questionable decisions that put himself and his feelings above the team and making decisions like only wanting to coach guys he likes and have coaches he already has ties to and was no longer the same guy.

Players can be great then get old and suck, that's what happened to Bill.

It's possible to be fair and balanced while discussing things.

There are only a few “ anti Bill” people here, the vast majority are those who consider him to be the GOAT, but also think he’s a ****. The Cult of Bill people simply can’t handle the truth, and throw temper tantrums any time someone criticizes him.

Huh? The hell are you even talking about?

Even he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He just admitted that half the people he calls haters aren’t haters. He’s a 3 year old who is wiping his ass with his hand and then flinging it at everyone.

Gotcha.

I'm not sure what he was supposed to do during the summer maybe try and claim someone at cut down I guess.

The deadline I suppose he could of tried something but he was still focused on Brady and the current team adding Sanu. I guess he could have tried both. But even after the tag I still think Bill figured he and Kraft could make the final deal happen.

Ive always said his 2 biggest mistakes were calling Brady's bluff in his walk year. And waiting a year to draft the next one.

We don't really know what he tried after Brady left rumors he might have tried to get Jimmy back (Shanahan coming of a SB appearance didn't have it in him to trade him). Whatever he did try didn't come thru. Then he still didn't draft one and fell back on Cam after the draft. I wanted Hurts but you don't see me carrying on about it is what it is.

Even if Bill knew he didn't want to re-sign Tom, I still wouldn't have taken Lamar Jackson in the 1st round for several reasons. One, he wasn't going to see the field until after 2019. That's two years of getting nothing out of your 1st round pick while your aging QB needed that pick to help him in his last years. Two, Jackson was viewed as a boom/bust pick.
He was there for the taking while we were on the clock, but we took "bone on bone" Sony Michel instead.
I was fine with Michel until I heard he was bone on bone. The Wynn pick I actually hated, especially after they traded for Brown a day later. Calvin Ridley should've been the 1st pick which almost this entire board/media wanted.

It's not like I have some list it's more like whack a mole.

The level of hate far far exceeds anything that a Patriots message board should contain for someone who lead this team to 6 SB wins. and sorry but if you not seeing the insane level of hate then it's logical to think you might have the same opinions.
