interesting set of questions...
basically checked all the boxes except Henderson having more all purpose yards and Ben Brown replacing Bradbury at center... based on what we have seen thru camp, practices and the preseason, Henderson is better... The better players should be starting...

I do think that Henderson will take the 1 spot from Stevenson this season, but not in week 1...

Center... we should have kept Jake Andrews and I have no idea why the brain trust let him walk... Bradbury is not a very good center... on the lower half of average... but i think he's better than brown at this point... ask me after week 9 about that one...

I checked them all except for the Moses and Brown options. Somehow I misspelled Moses...maybe I was thinking about Randy Moss.

IMO Henderson is not a 1st down back and he wouldn't be as effective running 12+ times a game. I think he will be more explosive keeping him with less then 10 per game...which should be doable with Stevenson and Gibson.

Absolulty we should have kept J. Andrews and going further back...Hjalte Froholdt...who is starting for the Cardinals. If Wilson is the future at C...I just wish they would put him there now and bite the bullet. IMO Brown is overall an average LG which is the best we would have if Wilson moves to C.

Hold onto your hat... think he is going to surprise you...

I don't like the center situation either. I would have thought they would have put more emphasis on this position so that Drake could rely on and build his relationship/communications with the "play caller" of the OL so the management of protections could develop over time. If they had shifted their priorities a little, and some ways they might have done so are mentioned above, they would more likely to be able to build a QB/C duo which could grow going forward. As it is, we have two marginal "maybes" who might or might not stick leaving them having to start all over again next year.

Using a 3rd seems like a lot of emphasis to me.

The team could hardly know that the SIX OG's they brought into camp to play LG would ALL fail and not make the 53.

We'll us top resources again next year on the IOL.

That's a fair point.

I felt the same frustration you did when when they were all released. All that time and effort during camps and preseason...for nothing. They should have made other plans earlier on if they knew they weren't going to make the team. Still...In Vrabel I Trust. Let's see how the early games are before we bring out the pitchforks.

Didn't vote for accuracy issues cause I don't know if that just mean incompletions or if he's blatantly missing throws. I think he'll have his share of incompletions at least.

He's been too amped up when the games start and mentioned (along with Vrabel) it's effected his throwing early. That's all that one was referring to

Ah got it. Great topic!

Early in preseason i made a quip about maye having to much time to throw resulting in ints. Well apparently this is a thing.

''Maye was seventh in the NFL last season with a completion percentage of 78.8 when he released the ball in under 2.5 seconds. He was 25th in that category (55.9 percent) on throws when he waited 2.5 seconds or longer to pull the trigger.''

Interesting stats. One would think he would have a better percentage with more time because the OL is doing it's job. I wonder if it's relevant to how far those throws were....like waiting more time and allowing the WR to get further down field. Short stuff is usually higher percentage.

Think you are [on the] right track thinking about OL & time; but just inverting the logic:….
I would posit that when he TAKES more time the weak OL is letting more pressure thru & so over 2.5s; he is throwing out of the pocket, on the move, under duress, or a combo of any/all 3.

Yes OL's have tougher times when the QB takes 2.7 to 2.8 seconds to throw as Maye does. We would need a much, much better OL if he continues to take that much time.

Brady took an average of 2.5; that is a good goal.

Agree with the posts above and would add the receivers to the equation.

A quick throw means your first read was likely open.

Holding the ball for 3 seconds or more often means nobody got open, the coverage confused you or your receivers, the o-line couldn't block forever, and you throw a lower percentage pass.

I think it could come down to when he has time he trys to make a perfect throw, he overthinks, becomes to fine, instead of just reacting and throwing. But as im posting this ive read other ideas of why he isn't as accurate that are just as plausible. I think micky d will call a lot of short passes anyway, with an occasional deep pass to keep the defense honest
