Bill vs TCU game thread

And that was a big part of why Bill failed post-Brady. He didn't adapt and he didn't bring in any fresh perspectives or ideas. He relied on the same group of people for 20 years and refused to work with anyone else.
There were some in house options that could have offered a more fresh perspective too he made a bad choice.

Please, you're the one who wants to go on past performance and you're suggesting TFB would be rattled if the Pats took Lamar?

We took Jimmy G in 2014 and Tom won the SB in 2014, won the SB in 2016, and was MVP in 2017.

Boy, it'd be terrible if we signed Lamar and Tommy reacted the same way he did to Jimmy G!
That's not what I mean at all. Everything doesn't need to be some huge battle. Just saying that after Jimmy Brady was a little taken aback and started lobbying for players that wouldn't take his job.

TCU elite? This is more Bill Truther nonsense.

They aren't even top-25, even after whipping the GOAT coach's team.

There's four top-25 ranked teams in Texas, and TCU isn't one of them.

Looking at the video from the game, one's reaction should be that it looks like Bill is way behind in recruiting and in coaching his players.

It shouldn't be to make excuses for him by referring to TCU as 'elite'.
Bill Truther? HAHAHAHA. I have lost faith and wanted him out since the Philly SB. I have disliked him ever since he forced Brady out. You can look at my posting history about him going back years. That does not mean I just blindly bash him.

TCU has not been an elite program over the last 10 years or so? Were they not in the national championship 2 years ago?

He may still fail miserably against worse teams but this TCU game just proves that he will not have a good team. I never expected him to compete for a playoff. Anybody who did was an idiot or a blind homer.

He will have plenty of win opportunities against crappy teams.

You do know Bill has 2 rings without Bill right?

But let's just stick to your logic/Math and it doesn't support your stance. Even by your own logic your stance is terrible. Your giving Bill %25 credit extremely low in my opinion but let's go with it. That still adds up to 1.5 SB victories.
Hardly something that should be criticized in the fashion that you do.
What a dumbass answer. That's like saying Josh has 3 rings.

You'd be amazed how many people in this forum though the NFL would come calling for him again after a year or two in Chapel Hill.

So he signed 70 new kids to the team?
Does that mean he cut 70 players that were already there? Were those existing players evaluated and cutbor did they just leave? If its a talent issue did he not do a good job picking the best players? This sounds familiar.

I think Brady was lobbying for the trust and respect from the team to allow Brady deciding when he was finished.
He wanted a contract that took him thru as long as he played well, and when he walked away the team wasn't hurt financially. He never was going to ask to be the highest paid.
He did want the team to use draft picks on improving the team around him.

I think that was the lobby.
I think RK was willing to go with that
I think Bill wasn't

That rankled Brady to no end, and his wife even more so.
Bill didn't care
RK tried to mediate, with Bill getting miffed that this huge decision wasn't Bill's, and Bill's alone.

I'm not a Bill hater or a Bill disciple. I just look for the chance to meme But in all seriousness I dont think its possible to extrapolate Brady from Bill and how things would have turned out for either had they never crossed paths.

There is no way to know what happens to Brady without Belichick.

But it is perfectly easy to know what happens to Belichick. He would have stayed on through 2001 - maybe 2002 at best - and then been fired.

Bill & Romeo were building a championship-caliber defense, but the offense was in rough shape, both in personnel & design, and their best player on it - no not Bledsoe - Terry Glenn, was having difficulty staying engaged... Charlie needed a QB like Brady to run the offense the way he envisioned it being run; and without him there was no way Bledsoe was gonna elevate the talent around him to make it work... He was going to get Bill fired eventually, because the offense never really caught-up with the defense talent-wise until 2007, Troy Brown, Deion Branch & Corey Dillon notwithstanding.

He certainly isn't getting 6 without Brady and Brady isn't getting 7 without Bill. I don't think you're giving that defense enough credit they probably play well enough to keep Bill off the block and Bledsoe had a really good 2002 season. Or maybe he finds a different guy and still drafts Branch and trades for Dillon and maybe some how pull one off still.

That's a pretty good trio notwithstanding you tossed out at the end lol.

They're the only ones I recall among the "skill" position players who had pro-bowl-worthy seasons here until '07. If a never-injured Bledsoe had to continue 2001 without Terry Glenn the way Brady did, he would've led the league in INTs and we don't make the POs, never mind win a SB... He was already heading in that direction the prior season, when he had to play it without Ben Winter Coates...
