Patriots Player Departure OFFICIAL 2025 Patriots roster cutdown day discussion / tracker

So probably the fact that Andy was in fact Drafted DID play a role in this competition and because they were neck and neck he gets the advantage. Borregales better keep practicing and deliver on his opportunities because I’m sure Vrabs has Romo on speed dial…..I’m pulling Borregales of course
Another way of saying that is a player under contract for four years had an advantage over a player on a one year contract, all else being equal.

The only thing that sort of makes sense is the fact it is an off day for the players (Tuesday) during what's essentially a bye for the players. So I do get it from that standpoint.
I can’t believe we actually care about when it was announced. Kelce is no more of a douche than many many other players, in fact maybe less. Much ado about nothing here folks

So are we carrying 8 receivers for now.

I think you missed my point: anyone they would be awarded on the waiver wire tomorrow would have to be accommodated by tomorrow at 4 PM. Anyone placed on IR to accommodate them would not have been on the 53 for the required 24 hours, and therefore would be done for the season.
This is actually something that confuses me. I don't understand why the cutoff doesn't align.

Teams have until tomorrow at 4:00 PM to make a waiver claim, and the 24 hour mark for the IR candidates is also tomorrow at 4:00 PM. Why can't they be simultaneous transactions?

So we keep 8 WR?

9 actually, because Polk technically has not gone to IR yet.

I understand where you’re coming from, but that roster had a lot more talent than ours overall (2018), and that was the WR position, with the Pats system one of the most notorious to learn in the NFL.

This year, we don’t have as much depth although our front line talent looks improved. And WR is likely one of the few positions they aren’t looking for. I bet some of these guys could be more plug and play, like if we grabbed a better CB6 or RB4.
My point wasn't about positions per se. It was more about the fact that it's not a given that the replacements will be a clear upgrade, and there are potential downsides.

Nope. Noon ET.

Don't make assumptions based on the Mediots.

Very possible that one or more are headed to IR or IR-DTR.

The Patriots still have to have made Cuts to get to 53.

Nope. Noon ET.
Ah there's the kicker.

That seems stupid though. So you have to cut a guy instead of sending to IR just because of a 4 hour gap?

What? that would be ridiculous. especially since he unfollowed Pats - maybe premature, and now they'll cut him for being a distraction
I said it would be ironic if Baker deleted his IG when called into a meeting with Vrabes, and then the meeting turned out to be telling him he’s made the roster. I didn’t really expect it, but here we are.
