Better stats than dobbs. 106 yards total...

Milton is ALWAYS going to be a great tease for fans. So much physical talent at a position that requires so much mental acuity to succeed. He is the Jeff George of the 21st century. He WILL have his moments, but he's not a guy you can count on long term.

I'm still actually rooting for Milton to do well if he gets a chance - but like you said, it has less to do with his physical skills and smarts than anything else

I still remember when Jason Whitlock was shilling for Jeff George to replace Matt Cassel in 2008. At that point he was 40 and had not played a game in three seasons.

I'm not bashing Milton: let's hope we Never get to Dobbs.

I was going to say.. isn't this the Buffalo game all over again? This last preseason game might be the worst competition he has ever faced

Against higher competition he looked awful twice

Was thinking the same thing

He was playing almost entirely against guys on the bubble - meanwhile all his WRs who were mad at him for making THEM look bad all pre-season were out there trying to show something to make the team

Buffalo game was the only game where he actually played with 1st string WRs* (which I'm guessing is pretty much why the entire starting secondary for BUF played the entire first half). Pretty much every preseason game, he's had to work with much lower WRs, and it's shown with the blatant drops and probably bad routes. That doesn't excuse the Tebow-esque throws in the first game (and they were BAAAD), but I can imagine working with Lamb and Pickens would have a Cassel '08 vibe-lite to it.

*The WRs that a lot of fans called the worst in the league.

That brings it back to my "office politics" comment. He was a 6th round pick and they just drafted Maye with the 3rd overall pick. Who did he think the Pats wanted to be the QB? Unless Maye was holding out, injured or playing Trey Lance poorly, Milton was entitled to think the Pats were going to roll the red carpet out for him. Speaking of Trey Lance, even though he was so bad, the 49ers still pushed for him to be the starter.

I just don’t get how he thought going to Dallas gave him a chance to start….Dak’s going nowhere till hurt.

Not sure what your point is. His chances of starting in Dallas are way more than in NE given Dak's injury history and age, plus he gets to learn from a really good experienced QB. In NE, with the Dobbs pickup, he wasn't even gonna sniff QB2 even if he deserved it.

I should have clarified what I meant. Him going there and WINNING a starting job was slim to none. My bad. I would think that as a backup, no matter where you go, you’ll eventually play due to injuries. He could have stayed here and waited for Drake to get hurt but then again, Daks injury history. Unless you have someone like iron man Brady who only went down when limbs are folded 45 degrees in the wrong direction…

Edit: Apologies for not being clear. My posts when I am at work sometimes don’t come out as intended. Not that I’d ever do that at work…no sir! /s
