Rats

They haven't played a game yet but if they go 2-6, things will be spicy.
The media will turn on Vrabel quick but I think he's got more buy in from Kraft than Mayo did and I think if things are trending in the right direction by the end of the year, that will buy him some goodwill.

Eliot Wolf. A rat with penny loafers and a famous father.

In a just world he'd be rooming with John Bolton in a minimum security prison somewhere.

The trade out of the Ladd McConkey spot and later drafting two offensive linemen based on their arm length and not much else.

The Ladd trade has nothing to do with the thread. Vrabel isn't going out in a press conference and calling Wolf a rat. If Wolf were the rat, we would hear about massive disfunction in the front office because he leaked it. We are not hearing that. You just want to take a shot at Wolf for a stupid mistake, which is just beating a dead horse over and over. Ya, we know. Wolf messed up.

From what I know about the strength staff I believe everyone loves Deron and Brian McDonough the other hold over from last year's strength staff. They've been working in this area for years before they joined the staff with players going back as far as Vinatieri. And they did a lot of work with the local hockey players getting them ready for college and the pros. They had been loosely working with the team for years before getting hired so it wasn't just a Jerrod thing.

I believe along with them Vrabel did put in at least one of his own guys too and who knows how things transition but long story short Deron is really good at what he does and I don't think there will be any problems and I expect him and Brian to get a fair chance to stay in the years to come.

slow day for Boston media. Heard this on the way to work on the Greg Hill show and again on the afternoon show. Big to do about nothing, good lord. Fitzy and Hart were droning on and on about him backtracking, the text line was even trying to tell them to move on already.
Vrabel sent a message to someone, move on already. Stupid topic (for the media….not us ).

Stupid sports talk fodder? Perhaps.

But also it can be viewed as a sign that things aren’t quite right in Foxboro and that the road to improvement as both a football team and organization could be very bumpy with internal tension. That would be disheartening as I want to believe things are finally about to change for the better.

Vrabel has a solid track record but that doesn’t guarantee success here.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Bedard claims that Polk's agent put out the news about his injury and that Vrabel was just busting chops. I believe that and I believe that people (media) are going to get very tired of his chop busting if he doesn't start winning.
I don't think it was just busting chops. I think he's legitimately pissed about it

He definitely is going to have a ready, fire, aim aspect of his pressers that we didn't see from his predecessors.

He reminds me so much of how Parcells dealt with and manipulated the press.
There's a lot of Parcells there, I agree. If I didn't know better, I'd say he played for him. But Parcells was a ball buster as well, so that might be enough of a connection.

As more time goes by he seems to get more of that edge. I hope by the end of the season he beats the **** out of Volin right in the presser room...with everyone cheering him on.
