I'd be fine with a practice squad made up entirely of backup offensive linemen

Did anyone else think the drafted kicker Andres Goingright lost the starter role to Romo Leg with that 46-yard shank?

Don't draft kickers. Ryland and now possibly Andres G?

And the long snapper was better but he should never ever ever ever have been drafted. He's undersized and nothing special. Makes me miss the Squid Cardona.
I think the better thing is to draft kickers and have patience. Kicker picks in the 6th and 7th round are way more successful than any other position and it is not even close.

Butker is the best PK in the NFL right now and was drafted. Then the Panthers put him on practice squad and Chiefs stole him. You have to let young kickers, with good talent, work through some mistakes.

Elliott drafted by Cowboys, stolen by Eagles off practice squad.

Yeah, you can just steal kickers of practice squad or try UDFA but then you have to play them and let them make mistakes anyways.

1/3 of teams didn't get 1 starting player out of the 6th or 7th rounds over a decade. Only 28% of teams got a starter in the 7th round, so 72% of teams just had a wasted pick every year for 10 years. I'd take a kicker every year in the 6th or 7th if I didn't have a great kicker.

Left Guard
Center
Backup QB
RB #4
FB
TE #3

That's a lot to ask for at this time of the year, but that's the state of a rebuilding team.

Haven't focused on any other teams enough to know who might be waived that would provide this team with an upgrade.

Agree 100% only Left Guard needs to be in all caps and 32 point font

I was honestly more concerned about the kickoffs into the endzone. First time he did that all camp.

You did miss some prime Amazon Arc Al Michaels though. Him ****ting on Ryan Fitzpatrick's career sitting right next to him for a good half hour was must-see.

And as Fitzmagic was leaving Al said something along the lines of "don't forget to pay your actor's dues!". Classic Al, big-timing everyone else.

I liked that Fitzy's insights about Vrabel were that they played golf together in the off season and Mike's golf game had gotten stronger after a year working in CLE. Classic pre-season third quarter content right there!

Especially with Herbstreit right there on the other side, who didn't even get a cup of coffee in the NFL, must have been thinking 'Holy **** this guy was in the league 17 years'.

Herbstreit looking decidedly middle-aged these days. I remember when he was the new kid on the block. Al, of course, is beyond ancient.

It's a shock. Most had Cole Strange penciled in as the starting LG. I made the point that that that is also Sidy Sow's natural position. So a first- and third-rounder at a position that is now rookie Jared Wilson who has no experience starting there or Ben Brown, the worst starting center last year or mystery man Caedan Wallace.

That's why I'd explore a trade with the Ain'ts for Trevor Penning, a Northern Iowa first round OT bust who has settled in nicely at LG.

Ain'ts need a Sidy Sow and a Javon Baker in exchange.

I can envision Sow making their roster, backing up Dillion Radunz. At LG.

At RG he is as hapless as the Chuks Okorafor experiment at LT or the Isaiah Wynn experience at RT.

We still miss Dante!

Sow's not making anyone's roster but Stop n Shop's.

My guess is when talking with the Patriots it became apparent to TV people that were was no effort into gameplanning or playing players of note to frame a story or some reason the general audience could stay tuned for. They went with the Giants and the rookie QB and the Giants because they had a home crowd etc. and seemed to be into playing the game unlike the Pats.
Agree they took the lazy approach.

NY is the bigger media market. Al is a native NYer. NY has a brewing QB controversy with the rookie likely to displace the famous but aging vet. Daboll hasn't delivered the wins, his job probably is at risk. Lots of easy shots to take.

We have the clear and obvious starting QB, the prodigal son returning as HC, an experienced OC, so not much controversy to talk about.

I also wish they would have done a deeper dive on the key players. Even their ball-washing of Jaxon Dart was shallow.

Agree. I suspect the bind is Wilson has only 1 year in college as a center (unless I am mistaken). He is probably not ready for the direction of an offensive line portion of being an NFL center. He is supposedly a very quick study, but it’s probably best for his development to play a year at guard before moving over.

They probably needed more from the rental
of Bradbury than they are getting.

Veteran LG probably helps Cambell settle in at tackle, but slows Wilson’s development.

May just be there isn’t a way to quickly rebuild a line that was a dumpster fire last year. I would err on the side of protecting Maye and try to get a LG

You did miss some prime Amazon Arc Al Michaels though. Him ****ting on Ryan Fitzpatrick's career sitting right next to him for a good half hour was must-see.

In all fairness to Al he was a 4 time All American in football, basketball, track and field, and cheerleading. He was also a Pro Football Hall of Famer at QB and middle linebacker. If anyone can criticize Fitzpatrick it’s Al. He knows if what he speaks.

I’m going to say If Dobbs is our backup it’s due to not having proper time for a McDaniels crash course, that being said I would call the Broncos about Stufham and I would call the Steelers about Skyler Thompson at QB.

That being said Kicker is a concern our rookie is not very good as I said.
So it it Parker Romo or the waiver wire or trades?

RB I think we are set at the first 3 but a fourth on the PS is helpful, I don’t see anyone capable of being the fourth but not as concerned about that.

TE we have nothing after our first 2, did Bell make one play this camp or preseason?

OL, we need a third tackle and we need A third and fourth Guard.

WR wouldn’t it be surprise if we have our eyes on someone to add more explosion to be our 6th or 7th?

CB,S I think we have 4 to 5 corners so we need a 5th and 6th.
I think Minor is PS material but there is better out there.

S- if Dugger is gone we need a 4th and 5th safety between roster and PS.

Dline, I have concerns, I’m concerned about Farmer, could be sneak on a PS probably not we more than likely have to give him a season to get stronger and figure it out.

LB- I think we are ok but if we can add Parsons Giddy up.

My biggest concerns third string O line, third string D line, third string DBs, third string QB.

KICKER!
My biggest concern is the first string line

Will RB 4 even see the Field?? I think we are all set there.
Running backs miss games due to injuries, and get slowed down by dings over the course of a season lasting four-plus months.
Between Rham's fumbling and injury history, yes, I do believe four RBs on the roster is preferable.
More so when there is no true FB either.
The more often this team runs is that much less often that they are relying to on the OL in pass protection.

Tyrese Robinson let go
